RE: Sorry state of fuel in North America

I'm hearing from RVers with boats about the trouble they are having with the ethanol in fuel, ruining injectors and carbuators in the boats. Can only imagine what it's doing to out cars, trucks, generators and other small engines.

RE: Desktop Keyboard & Coffee don't mix

Most keyboards are an easy fix. I've cleaned many keyboards at work. Unplug it from the PC. Blow out as much of the dust and food particle as possible. Then give it a good soaking with Alcohol. Use the tooth brush to brush between the keys, then re-soak with Alcohol and blow it dry. The keys will pop off easily with a small flat screw driver by prying up on one side of the key.

RE: Propane Exchange

I have mine filled locally at tool and equipment rental co. It cost me less than the exchange places and I get a fuller tank.

RE: Heartland Augusta

The airbed (fold out sofa)leaking was a problem for us also, but after talking to Flair customer service, I found that you have to fold the mattress up and place it in the zipper bag they supply every time you take the bed down. After having 3 mattress replaced in 1.5 years, not knowing whar should be done, we have now had 2 years trouble free with the mattress.
Heartland has seemed like they will stand behind their products. Sometimes it takes a call to customer service to get results. I think some of the time it's the dealer that's the problem, when it comes to getting things fixed.

RE: How to break the ice with our CG neighbors?

Just take a walk around the campgrounds, and say hi as you pass by, and you'll meet a lot of nice people
Just come on down to Hillsdale State Park, and say hi.

Why not take it to a body shop that repairs Corvettes or does custom body work. They should be able to rebuild your cap and make ir stronger.

RE: Camper has lots of hail damage....now what

From what I have been told by a RV tech, about rubber roofs and hail is that most of the time you won't see the hole the hail made unless you really look hard at it. The hail will hit the rubber roof and make a small slit in the rubber, then bounce off, then the slit closes but it still there. Water will then seep into the slit and start causing water damage. Then when you first see the water damage, it's usually to late, the damage is done.

RE: Camper has lots of hail damage....now what

MidmoCamper
A friend of mine had his roof replaced on his 40 ft cyclone over the winter, from a hail storm last summer in Olathe KS. they replace rubber roof, decking, skylight and roof vents. He had A to Z Mobile RV do the work. It looks real good. It was expensive but he got the check from the insuance co. to cover it. I think his unit is a 06 or 07 model.

RE: Time to upgrade my Droid phone. Any recommendations?

I had a Blackberry curve until it started acting up. I was up for upgrade and my DD and DW bought me a Iphone 4 as a Christmas present. Wasn't sure if I would like it, but it's been 5 months now and I love it and wouldn't want another phone. I'm on Verizon, and the had it for $90 if you upgraded.

RE: Wiring Horse Trailer

He may want to run it in conduit like he would in a house or comercial building. Make sure he runs stranded wires and not soild copper. Solid copper will not hold up to the constant vibrations when driving down the road (that's way cars/trucks use stranded). Also make sure he understands to wire for 120 vac not 240 vac. If he isn't sure, use wiring 120vac for Rv,s

RE: STOLEN 2007 30' SMOKEY TRAVEL TRAILER

Insurance company and a Lawyer, Insurance most likely isn't going to cover the cost of getting yours replaced. A Lawyer to see if you can use the "24 hour security" signs against them to pay up on a replacement.

RE: Cold air intake

On a gas engine, they are about worthless. On a diesel, they make sense, but just changing the air filter isn't enough, you need to open up the exhaust My 04 factory filter flows better than most after market filters, but when I looked at the exhaust it was restrictive. I put a 4" exhaust from turbo back, free flowing (the turbo has a 3.5" flange) and it really made a difference. The turbo spins up faster and the power band is smoother.
Now if you add a turbo or super charger, then a air filter and exhaust upgrade would help.

RE: Seat belt retractor ???? 97 chev 2500

If memory servers me right, at the botom of the belt, there is a bar that moves wo lock the belt in place. if they get alot of dust/drit, soda spills on them they can gum up and not work correctly. A goot cleaning may help it.
