Question on wall mount stability for new LED TV

Just removed the TV in the front of the MH between the driver and passenger and bought a new LED to mount above the door....I cannot believe the weight of the old TV, it must have been 65#....(prob an 05 model TV)....I can hold the new one, 32", in one hand..!!....
Mounted the TV above the door so I can try to get rid of the permanent kink in my neck from trying to watch it in the frt of the MH....All went fine, used a flat mount from the local Walmart......Wife then wanted a swivel/movable mount...Better to get a new TV mount than a new wife, so to CW and bought their articulating mount with the chain that you pull to lock it flat for travel....Appears to be a good mount, lockable against the wall for travel and alot of movement if desired while in use.....
Question: their is alot of movement, even when locked for travel....I have not driven the MH yet with the new TV but I can see that I will need to strap it down to prevent it bouncing all over...Is this normal?? What have others done??

RE: New slab to park Coach

Just to add to what others have said----
Poured 31 cu yds of new driveway and RV pad April 3rd....Concrete guy said give it 7 days for a car and the full 30 days for the MH (approx 20K lbs).....Too much money involved for me to push it and try to put the MH on it early.....
Just ordered a metal structure/RV carport and it should be delivered next week..should have it up just in time for the MH to move in.....

Wife and I did the 395 from the southern start to mid-Oregon last summer and Likely was one of the highlights......Highly rec the stop, a few miles off 395 but well worth it....

RE: Mud flap on motorhome

I took my wife's yoga/workout mat and cut it about 2" larger than the outside of the windshield....Put small 3" velcro strips around the w/s and matched it on the mat.....about 6 velcro's in all, very hard to see even if looking for them.....I put the mat on the outside of the w/s with the velcro and also under the wipers......Did this a few mos ago after quite a few small dings from rocks, etc.....Now----after a new w/s and over 2K miles with this 5 dollar setup not even one ding....
About 1K miles ago I noticed the front grill area with quite a few very small dings from rocks....Took my wife's new mat and did the exact same thing for the grill.....It stays in place with about 8 small velcos strips, again very hard to see even if looking for them....Worked fine....
Looking for a use for my wife's 3rd mat in 6 mos now....

RE: Frustrated with Hankook Tire Purchase

Ran into the same issue at a truck tire dealer that is highly recommended in Escondido, Ca....Would not guarantee any tire newer than 2 yrs old...Good grief....Walked away and found there are plenty of others that will send them back to the mfg/wholesaler if they are over a certain number of months old.....One dealer I talked to said he sends tires back all the time for MH's that come in over 6-9 mos old....
Shop around, there are others that will work with you....

RE: 2009 Ford F53 Chassis Question

Each chassis seems to be so unique...Same years with different experiences ref ride, etc....I have a 2006 F53 and know 2 others who have nearly identical MH's....Weight similar, year the same, etc....Mine rides fine, theirs not so fine.....They complain about the ride and have spent money to correct the issues....Marginal success..
Mine seems to do just fine....Last June we were NB hwy 395 in the Bishop area with very very strong winds..In fact, shortly after we passed thru Bishop they closed 395 to all trucks, MH's etc due to 2 accidents....my MH felt the winds certainly but at no time were we out of control or anything close....I felt it did fine....
Seems each MH is unique, perhaps because of some bushing flaws/wear issues, weight and balance issues or similar....I did put Firestone air bags in the rear to get the rear end up a bit due to my driveway..(total of less than 2") ....I did not exp any diff in handling with the Firestone system...The undercarriage is all original...

AGAIN--no call back--trying to spend $$ at CW

Marcus--I posted a couple weeks ago about asking for a quote on tires and never getting a callback from CW San Marcos, Ca....It was smoothed over by a rep from AZ and all is OK...(in the meantime I bought the tires elsewhere).....
Wife and I were in the San Marcos store Wed and liked a sofa they had on the floor....Was told to go the catalog to inquire about a special order...Called the ## in the catalog (888-622-6264) Thurs morning and the person said he would call the factory and get back to me early Fri morning at the latest by phone ref if a color was avail and the wait time for delivery.....
Here it is Fri afternoon, end of the workday, weekend here, and no call...AGAIN...
I have tried to spend 3600.00 on tires at CW and nobody wanted my money..I went elsewhere....I am trying to spend 700.00 on a sofa and nobody wants my money...I will again go elsewhere..
I like CW alot but this is unacceptable.....I like what you are trying to do and I know the issues in changing climate in a workplace ( I did it)...This needs to be addressed when a cust is trying to spend money and cannot....

RE: Trip to Alaska

I have travelled into Canada twice (enrt to Ak) in 2004 and 2010...Both times by motorcycle.....(The MH trip is in 2013).......
Both times on the m/c I took a 22 cal survival rifle, the kind that folds into the stock...both times I filled out the paperwork and paid the fee at the border and no issues at all.....Canadians never raised an eyebrow...
I have no idea why I took a firearm to Canada in those 2 trips..I did much camping, alone, on both trips and thought it was for protection.....Would have only made the bears mad, in hindsight....
Would not take a firearm into Canada again..No need, IMHO.....But, if you want to, as I understand it, a long gun is fine..Just decare it and pay the fee....

RE: Weber Q 200

I used a propane grill exclusively then switched over to electric a couple years ago and will not go back to propane....Just my personal preference....
I use the George Foreman grill....It "unfolds" to 3-4 pieces and is very compact to store......Works great for us ....

RE: Anybody have Marcus Lemonis' e-mail address?

UPDATE---
Got a call today from a CW regional mgr (I think that's his position) and he wanted to know how the ball was dropped....Gave him the facts and I believe he was genuinely interested in handling it and assuring it would not happen again.....That, plus the CEO responding on this site makes me believe that CW is trying to handle these rough spots and straighten out some people.....This was not a big deal but if it happened to me it would again..I seriously think that responding to phone calls is a priority at this store today.....
As I have said previously, I enjoy CW and if you watch the prices (just like shopping for any other product) you can get some decent deals.....

RE: Anybody have Marcus Lemonis' e-mail address?

I am the OP...For brevity, I did not include everything in my original post.....I did call the store back to make mgmt aware and asked for the mgr...
1st call----on hold for 6-7 mins then hung up..
2nd call----put thru to his phone and it rang for at least 5 mins w/o going to ans mach/voice mail/or anyone else picking it up...Hung up again.....
I happen to like CW but have never used them for service....this is something the CEO needs to be bothered about.....

Anybody have Marcus Lemonis' e-mail address?

I called the CW store here in North San Diego to price 6 new G670 tires and was told that a service person would call back shortly....3 days later and no call so I have made an appt to get them at a truck center close by.....
I enjoy CW and think Mr Lemonis should be aware that I tried to give his company some business but somebody dropped the ball......He is trying I think to make CW more responsive and needs this type of feedback.... I e-mailed mlemonis@campingworld.com but it comes back as no longer a good address.....
Anybody have a good email for Mr Lemonis??

RE: Question on switching from DirectTV to Dish

Thanks to all who gave info..Much appreciated....
Why switch?? I have been having nothing but trouble with DirTv getting an issue with one of the boxes in my house fixed...Long story, but I have paid for a service call, new box and the trouble still exists.....When deleting a recording from the DVR the system will lock-up every 2-3 times....Then I have to reset, which takes 20 mins or so....This has been going on for a year...Cust Service has told me a number of times that it is a software issue that they are aware of and it is fixed, still no go....There are some other issues such as the box cutting off the last 10-20 mins of a recording about every 10 times, etc....(and it is not a conflict weith another recording)...Just had it with DirTv and was wondering if Dish was any better..Looks like they are about the same, I just hate to continue paying for a product that is, for me, not working as it should (it worked fine for the first 2 yrs, no problems...)....
I will probably stay with DirTV, it does not look like Dish is that much better to justify a move....
Thx again for all the input..

Question on switching from DirectTV to Dish

Currently have DirectTV....Looking to switch over to Dish......I currently have a portable dish on a tripod that is labelled "DirectTV" and I just take the box from the house, set up the dish at the CG using the "signal meter" screen on the TV and good to go wherever I am........Takes 5 mins and it has worked great across the country....
If I switch to Dish, is the procedure the same?? Just take the box from the house and set it up?? Can I use the same dish or do I need one specifically for Dish?? I don't have HD at the house or the MH.....

Finally got the RV out for 3 nights in Hemet, Ca

Left Fallbrook for the long long trek to Hemet (45 miles) for 3 nights at the Golden Palms...nice park and good people...Fair price.....(Passport America)....
Have not been able to get away earlier due to life interferring.....But have till Friday so we are happy campers.....
Needed a few gallons of gas and paid 4.09 for regular.....Could have put in about 50 gals and maybe I should have, planning a trip this summer and maybe 4.09 will be a bargain in June......
Weather in Hemet today is 78 at my site, so sitting outside with a cold one and watching life go by.....Life is good......(in spite of gas prices)......
