RE: Whidbey Island, WA

If you haven't been to Deception Pass it is well worth the time to see. It is beautiful !! I was stationed at Oak Harbor way back in the 50s

RE: Honda eu2000i off Craigslist!

Sifter.... And you can sleep at night knowing you TOOK ADVANTAGE OF AN OLD MAN who didn't know the value of his equipment? It's a shame.... Sorry but this old man just had to vent. It's a cruel world out there for us old farts but not this one. I enjoy messing with reticulesas "offers".. Don't give me any crxp about, he got what he wanted, he was satified. Bottom line, he was taken advantage of.... I hope a number of folks can read this before it gets zapped but I think it's informative to our senior members who I think are a majority in our forums to check the value of their RV equptment sales. I can imagine how it would be easy to just "dump it" if we should lose our travel companion but why let some stranger reap on our loss? .... What else can I say.. ??? IMO.. What a bunch of BS !!!!!

RE: Emergency Road Service

I had Good Sam for 8 years or so and the last several times that I called Good Sam it took 2 to 3 hours to show up. I switched to Coach Net and the last two times that I called, service was poor and it took nearly 3 hours and I was downtown Yuma. So I will be going back to Good Sam as it is much cheaper

RE: New Fridge on or off???

Our trailer is stored at home and the fridge is kept off until a couple of days prior to a trip. When we return from a trip what is left in the fridge is unloaded and the fridge is turned off and given a good cleaning. There's not much point for us to keep it on when it is just sitting at home. Same as above. Works for us

RE: Teenager At Home and RVing

We raised 5 children, 3 boys, 2 girls, and never had a problem leaving one or more for two weeks. Granted things were different in those days. the oldest is 56, and youngest is (was) 49. I probably would not do that now. Maybe 3 or 4 days, and checking several times a day

RE: Newbie need advise for the length of TT

I went from towing a 28ft TT to a 34 ft TT with very few problems other than some camping sites that I no longer fit in. Really like the extra room that the 34 ft has. Would not go smaller

RE: Oregon 138 from I-5 to Reedsport?

RE: Thousand trails

We have been members for over 25 years and I never pay any attention to the check in time. We have checked in as early as 8 AM and if I have a res I have never been turned away. South Jetty in Florence Oregon use to assign you a site and if you wanted a dif one, no problem. But now like others say. You sign in then find a site, and you should tell them what site that you or in. If you have a res with the member with you I would not thank you would have a problem. Enjoy your stay

RE: My wife talk me into selling my Motor Home

This is a case where I would not listen to the Wife. I would def keep the MH. I am older than you and no one tells me what to sell or buy or whatever !! Make your own decisions . That what the Wife and I do. Married 54 years

RE: Do you miss your front window?

I have to have a window in front so as I am washing dishes I can see what is going on outside plus lets in more light. I hate all the RVs with the bedroom in front and kitchen in the rear. Dishes bounce around and end up on the floor. Most places we go bushes are at the rear of our Rv so I do not care to sit and look at them. I sold my 34 ft TT and I am having a problem finding a front kitchen with the big window. All our other trailers had a front window and never had a leak in over 50 years of camping and towing

RE: Thousand Trails Camping pass

My son bought a zone pass Easter weekend for $499 for two zones , buy one and the other thrown in. The zone pass is a great deal. I belong to TT {over 25 years} and I cannot walk away after one year. We really like TT as I can use every day of the year for the $275 yearly dues. We use about 150 days a year as we spend 5 months in AZ in our House

RE: Install sway control - yes or no???

I would recommend the sway control for all the above resons. As far as removing when backing in over 50 years of towing I have never removed the sway bar, and I have towed TT from 12 ft long up to 34 ft. I even use a sway bar on my enclosed Hallmark MC trailer and cargo trailer

RE: Suggestions for AZ or CA

The Yuma Foothills area gets my vote. We tried other areas in Az but prefer Yuma Foothills. It gets windy at times but so do other areas. Very little rain and in 60s and 70s during the day. Lot of golf courses , places to eat, mountains to hike. LOT OF CANIDIANS !!!! Next year will make our 14th year going there
