RE: Help Getting to Gold Canyon AZ

Gemstone has given you some good advice. The southern route is the safest in the winter months.

RE: Kwikee Electric Step

Warning about Kwikee!!! I just went through that. Kwikee is has changed things. They have updated the controls & you will eventualy have to spend the big $$$$. Some of my new parts failed to work properly. Also Kwikee no longer will give tech servise to a consumer other than by email & they are very incompetant!!! Dealers only. None of the tech phone numbers are any good. I did get a tech by calling their parent company (Actuant Corperation) but was informed that they would only talk to a dealer. Bad news for us! Maybe if we all call Actuant Co. & complain they will change their policy?

RE: Branson & Eureka Springs: Bargains & Suggestions?

When in Branson we camp at the city park in Forsyth Mo. The camp ground is all water front in Bull Shoals lake & cheap. I think $6 with passport. It is about a 7 mi. drive the back way into Branson. When in Eurika we stay in the town of Beaver which is one the Ark. & Mo. state line & is also water front on Table Rock. That cg is an old Corps Eng. which was turned over to the town of Beaver. Also cheap. About 5mi. from Eurika via the back road across the swinging bridge. A must visit & cheap in Branson is across the Tanycomo lake in Hollister. That would be The School Of The Ozarks. It has a real good museum with the Beverly Hillbilly car & a gun collection with old out laws guns. Bat Masterson, Virgil Earp etc. Cost is about $6. The school also has the best resteraunt in the area at the lodge. Price there is also a bargan.

RE: first time traveler

Welcome to travel!! You will not regret it. Williams is COLD. Lots of better places to spend the cold part of winter. You might consider going on South & staying at a lower elevation in the cold part of winter. Any where South of I-10 or the Colorado river valley would be a lot warmer. Az will have cold & snow in the higher elevations. Williams & the Grand Canyon is a nice stop over in the early spring.

RE: Do portable washing machines travel well?

I had one when we pulled a trailer & found that it is so small that it was not worth the effort most of the time. Did use it some for one winter.

RE: Extra Genset Question

The 110 side of your transfer switch is likely getting weak. It works like a household circuit breaker. I had the same problem once. The switch is rebuildable but it is best to buy a new one. I was able to manualy switch mine until I was able to fix it.

RE: water tank

I have been told by an rv tech that Peroxide is much better than bleach. It does not damage componants & will dissapate in about 3 hrs. One 6 oz. bottle to 100 gal. Can be left in & also not a bad idea to treat the system periodically when rv is in use.

RE: skylight moisture between two layers-problem?

I had one that did that. I recaulked it on the inside around the edge. It worked. The moisture was getting in from the shower & condensing on the cooler piece on the outside.

RE: suggestions for extended stay in Tucson

Try Justins rv park aka Diamond rv park. Nice park with long term rates. Good location & very private. It is off 86 hiway just up San Juaquin at little bit. Doc Justin will help you with anything that he can. good luck
