RE: Where to stay in Del Rio, TX also Quartzsite, AZ

I'm at Broke Mill RV Park at the present and have been here for seven weeks. I needed a year off from traveling over the past 6 years and moved over here when I tired of Tucson. This is the best park in the area and I have checked them all. I'm paying $300/month plus electric.
For the life of me I can't see why people are afraid of this area. The shooting at Falcon Lake, over 200 miles southeast of here last year scared a lot of people away. Laughlin AFB is here. Do you think for one minute the cartels would like to upset the USAF (I'm ex Navy)? If that isn't enough proof of how safe this area, Del Rio is also the regional headquarters for the Border Patrol and just tonight at dinner someone joked that there is probably one border patrol officer for every ten residents. They are all over the place.
Business have suffered here because of unfounded fears. From my experiences this place is preferred over anything in the RGV and the winter temps are 10-15 degrees warmer than the Hill Country.
