RE: Ran Out Of Propane Already?

one of three things are true... - your tank wasn't filled as you requested - you have an LP leak - your furnace was running a lot more than you thought my money is on #1.

RE: How to research the tiny city/county campgrounds

Hubby and I are going nearly 4 hours away for Memorial Day. After working all day Friday, we're contemplating driving halfway and finding a small city or county campground for one night, finish the drive in the a.m. We have two small restless kids, so this halfway plan would do well. Problem is, how do we find these little campgrounds? Are there central listings somewhere? We have noticed little city parks with two RV sites, but never really paid attention since we didn't have an RV. Help a newbie out. :W google is your besft friend in cases like this: Google Search for PUBLIC CAMPGROUNDS and this is a good reference site for public campgrounds: The Ultimate US Public Campgrounds Project finally, try searching google for state specific parks and campgrounds such as 'Minnesota Public Campgrounds', 'Wisconsin Public Campgrounds', etc. good luck and enjoy your time away.

RE: Storage options

we're paying $100 p/m for outdoor gated/fenced/24 hr access storage. no dump station, no wash area, no elec hookup, no on-site security. we've been there for at least a decade with no problems. it would be nice if there were electricity and a dump station.

RE: Tow Lights: Diodes vs. Bulbs

what are the symptoms when the diodes fail? Thanks, Rick no lights on the toad. happened to us in south dakota. even if it's not the path of least resistance adding bulbs is the best way to go. much more bullet proof.

RE: Door Knob

I've got an older (1996) Winnebago. The bathroom door knob is getting worn and sticking, hard to open etc. I tried to match something at Lowes but a stick built house is obviously different. Any one have an idea where I can get a repacement? Thanks Gordon Colaw RV Salvage or Lichtsinn Motors. Lichtsinn specializes in Winnebago parts.

RE: HWH Leveling System Problem--Help

do you hear the pump running when you press store? if not you may have blown a fuse. on our itasca there is a master fuse and each solonoid (those are the valves you opened) has a fuse.

RE: Tow Lights: Diodes vs. Bulbs

RE: now what

It's sold, so it is a moot point. maybe. if there is gross misrepresentation of the item or an intent to defraud by the seller the buyer may have an out but otherwise i think you may be correct...acceptance of the bid is likely a binding contract enforceable in court. it may be worth the relatively small cost to consult an atty in the seller's state to see what if any rights the buyer has.

RE: now what

I would take it for that price. assuming it checks out mechanically...chassis, coach, appliances and so on, can be licensed in the states, doesn't have a roof that leaks, has no horrible smells inside, the seller actually has title... you get the idea. i think you're nuts to send this guy one red cent until and unless you've inspected the MH, hired qualified chassis and coach mechanics to do a thorough inspection of the RV and taken it for a test drive. assuming all of that passes muster then i would insist that the sale take place at a reputable bank where the title can be examined to be sure it is not a fake. i buy from eBay all the time but there's no way i'd spend that kind of money sight unseen. hope it works out for you.

RE: now what

i don't see a link to your eBay item so can't comment on it. but why would you bid an RV that you hadn't seen and examined in person. you should've realized that there was at least the possibility that you'd win the auction. the time to wonder if it was a scam was before you bid. hope it works out for you.

RE: Wrecked my 96 Dynasty, need advice!

- do you have a copy of the report and does it contain a statement from the officer attributing fault to the other driver? if you don't have a copy of the report get one. you'll need the case number that the reporting officer should have given to you at the scene. if you don't have, didn't get or lost the report number than use the date/time of the accident. - notify your insurance agent of the accident. they can cut through much of the red tape including getting a copy of the report. if you are away from home ask them for a referral to three qualified repair shops in whatever area you are located. visit each and get a thorough estimate of repairs. or...if you have a favorite repair shop do the same. the point is to get at least two, preferably three, estimates. this will arm you to do battle, if need be, with the other driver's insurance company. yes, the other driver's insurance will try to low-ball you. be proactive and seek out written estimates. - document ALL phone conversations with anyone regarding the details of the accident and claim. who did you speak with, when did you speak with the person and what was discussed. save all e-mail/snail mail correspondence. good luck.

RE: 96 jeep cherokee

I am looking at a 96 jeep cherokee country, automatic, 4x4 which, among other things I want to tow behind my RV. It won't be fancy, but, I was wondering if anyone has thoughts regarding this vehicle being towed. Thanks! check HERE for more info. also be sure you know the various weights and weight ratings for your MH and cherokee. in general, the maximum amount of weight you can safely tow will be the lesser of the following: - the GCWR of the MH minus the actual weight of the MH as configured and loaded for travel (including fuel, LP, water, food, clothes, supplies, pets, people, stuff, etc). this assumes that neither axle is overweight vis-a-vis the GAWR for each axle - the weight rating for the hitch. a Class III hitch has a typical weight rating of 5000-lbs; a Class II hitch 3500-lbs, a Class IV hitch 10,000-lbs - the weight rating of the towbar. you'd be wise to use a towbar that can handle more weight than the weight of the cherokee. good luck.

RE: Verizon Data- Problem or Scam

the Verizon my data is *not* real time. there is a lag of at least 24-hours. if you have an iPhone you need to install the DataMan app on your smart phone. there are two versions...free and Pro. the Pro version states that it will push a notification to you when you exceed a data threshold. android probably has a similar, if not the same, app. DataMan Pro for iPhone Android apps that may do the same thing

RE: Furnace not putting out heat; fan works

Yes I have LP and it's on. The fan goes on and stays on; because it is blowing cold air I turned it off after several minutes. an RV furnace works just the opposite of your home furnace. at home the burner ignites and at a certain temperature the fan kicks in. in an RV the blower starts first and after a few seconds the burner will light. if the LP tank is full and the gas is flowing...the stove burners light, etc...then i'd agree with the previous poster concerning the thermocouple, control board, etc.

RE: Furnace not putting out heat; fan works

pardon me but simple things first. do you have LP in the tank(s) and is the supply valve on?

RE: Two questions about the water supply system

http://bananaboatbytes.com/images/miscellaneous/water_gauge.jpg i used to use the el cheapo 'pressure regulators' but got tired of replacing them every year when they became clogged with debris. finally spent the bucks for a Watts professional water regulator (model 263A). it actually regulates the pressure and doesn't restrict the flow. a year later i added a pressure gauge mounted on a hose swivel. this allows me to actually see the inbound water pressure. it's not absolutely necessary but i like to know just how much pressure is present. i mounted the pressure gauge to the pressure regulator and put quick disconnects on both ends for the hoses. i keep the regulator set to 50-psi and i use iteverytime we hook up to city water. the only mistake i made was not buying the stainless steel versions. Can you explain how the pressure can be regulated without restricting the flow? Thanks nope. not an engineer but the Watts regulator provides a flow of between 4 to 4.5 gpm.
