RE: Our new project coach

You sir, are one talented(or crazy!)individual ! This makes me wonder what ever happened to that English bloak, who did the same thing to a Grand Villa(?), and then had to move back to jolly old England. Anyone remember ? Robbie

RE: Beware in keys

Not if the bank owned it. I'm not to familiar w/this sort of thing, but doesn't the storage manager have to send some kind of certified letter, to the owner, if disposal is to take place ?? Robbie
I think maybe the Park could have sold the coach to the highest bidder, then you would have lost more then a few hundred dollars.

RE: UPDATE: Report On Tetford Smat Sewage Hose.

Take the fitting apart, clean really well, and assemble again using Vaseline, or some sort of grease. I just had to do one on mine. Now there is no leak. Robbie
I have had horrible experience with Rhinoflex....
Trouble with the coupling attaching to the tanks..never seems to fit properly
Now I have a leak right at the top of hose by the coupling...it's a mess!
I am now looking for a more relable non leaking hose...suggestions?

RE: We Traded

Apples and better grade apples kinda thing. The Rev costs way more than the Ventana. No air adj. on tags, or any other bags. The one thing I would do on ANY rig sitting on the lot for over a year, is have them put in new house batteries as part of the deal. They will always be bad. Good luck, Robbie
Hello. I have a 2010 Newmar Canyon Star 3510 (gas). I am considering upgrading to either a 2012 Newmar Ventana LE 3843 (Diesel) or a 2011 American Revolution 42Q. I am a little concerned with the left over American Revolution. Have any of you American Revolution owners had any significant problems? The Canyon Star was a left over and we had some very sinificant electricl issues (trnasfer switch, chassis battery and holding tank indicating system problems just to name a few) Also, I have 4 children ranging in ages from 3-12. Is the American Recolution "Child Friendly" or is this RV to advanced for smaller children? The Newmar Ventana 3843 has bunk beds equipped with individual DVD players similar to the Canyon Star. Thi is handy in resolving the "But I dont want to watch what he is watching" paradigm. The towing capacity of the Ventana is 5,000 lbs same as the Canyon Star so the 15,000 lb capacity of the American Revolution will definiately afford me some growth as the kids get older and I will need a bigger toad. Currently I towing a 2010 Honda Odyessy but may need a Tahoe in a few years thus exceeding the capacity of the Ventana. Lastly, any tips for driving a Tag axel and adjusting the air suspension. Are the operating and maintenance costs for a diesel coach significant (aside from the current price of gas)? I am just a bit concerned I am biting off more than I can chew. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Chris

RE: NEED HELP

What model Dometic ?
We have a dometic fridge that the freezer is getting cold in but the bottom will not get cold any ideas? I have medicine that I have to keep in the fridge and it will not stay cold. We can't go on anywhere until I figure this out. All the recalls have been done and I was told everything was good to go. Turned it on today and the freezer works fine but not lower fridge? Also this is on a class A Gulfstream coach if that helps. When I dewinterized it there is also a line under the sink that still has some pink fluid in it that. Could that be the ice maker?

Try these guys. They have stuff in stock, or make what you want. They did a mesh screen for me, the kind you attach to your awning, a couple of months ago. Robbie

RE: Buying Advice: '04 Fleetwood Southwind

We had an '07 Southwind 37C, and really liked it. No problems to speak of. Now, I don't know if your year has the power Gear ELECTRIC jacks, but there has been problems galore w/those. Worth a check to see. Good luck !! Robbie

RE: Sleep number mattress improvement

We tried some after market items to improve how the sleep number bed that came with our new coach felt. In the end we dumped it entirely and bought a Beauty Rest Elite mattress (pocketed coils combined with a memory foam top section) and now we feel like we have the presidential suite every night... Fantastic. Personally, I think the sleep number beds are way over hyped. I've never been on one that felt nearly as luxurious as a genuine mattress of today's best design and materials. Our King size Beauty Rest Elite was on sale for about $1500, not cheap, but worth every penny if you spend much time in your coach.
X2 !!

RE: "American Pickers", and our intended travels

"I can't wait to visit those small towns and country roads. I get real tired of monster cities and congested freeways. Any of you nice folks live close to where they've visited? I'd like to know where to visit and stop in say hello". Thanks, Scott
Scott, my SIL lives in Kennebunk, ME, and saw their van there this summer. They are showing the Maine series now. (I think) I've met the guy w/ the collection that they bot the NOS Harley goggles from. I know guys in NH, ME, and MA that have extensive car and memorabilia collections. Robbie

RE: My solution for the dreaded fogged dual pane window.

Seems like a overreaction to a common problem with several solutions. My solution takes an hour or two: Fogged window repair for the DIY'er.
As far as the usefulness of double paned windows go, many, many owners here on the forum have compared their RVs with and without and the winner is double paned for comfortable AC, heating without too much furnace run time, and less noise from outside.
I agree with them. No offense, JMO.
Disagree, true dual pane windows with any r value are sealed tight. And filled with an inert gas, such as argon. Having two thin layers of glass with "air" in between does nothing for insulation, sound deadening, ect. Moisture forms due to temp differences. Argon is an insulating gas. Air not. Sorry but submit your coach to the right
circumstances and you will have fogging with your repair.
Here is a rebuttal. Robbie

RE: Dry Camp / Fill Freshwater Tank?

I use a 45 gal "water bladder" (http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/portable-rv-fresh-water-tank-45-gallon/1605), lying in the back of my toad, and a 5.7 Shur-flo, hooked to a battery charge pack. I hook it rite to the prssure side, and my gauge reads about 35# while it's pumping. Just filled my tank today. Oh, we dry camp in Key West for 3 months, and it has worked for me for the last 2 years. Also use a non-"blue boy" waste disposal unit. The rig never leaves the site. Robbie

RE: Anyone have trouble parking with full wall slides?

Is it a MH, 5er, Inquiring minds want to know. Robbie
Has anyone delt with trouble in a Park or CG with full wall slides I am looking at one with full wall slides on both sides for 27ft but I know some of the places I wanted to park had power or water or picnic tables in the way on one side or the other. I think with both slides out it is almost 13 ft wide for almost 30ft. Anyone with real world experiance that can let me know. Eddy

RE: What is the easiest way to remove 3-m mask.

Perhaps, but I talked to the guy doing it, and he was stationed right there at Lazy Days. After all is said and done, it's gone, never to return. Robbie
Gonna be near Lazy Days soon? I had them take off my Diamond shiet last Oct. I started and gave up. I also had the front repainted the way I wanted it . Robbie
I want it off asap. I dont think I would ever have this again. Or is there a better product out there? The way I feel I would rather paint the front every 5 yrs. than have this eye sore. LazyDays Farms this out to a company on Rt. 92 I will only do this myself.

RE: What is the easiest way to remove 3-m mask.

Lucky dude !! As per all other posts, this stuff sukks. I will custom order my next rig, just so I don't get stuck w/this krapp again. Don't forget, dealers make most all of their prof$$$it from "options". Try to buy a rig w/o washer/dryer, mirrors on the ceiling, diamond Sheilt, side view (useless cameras)etc, et al ! Robbie
I don't know why my Diamond shield was different than the others...
This is important. 3M is 3M, Diamond Shield is Diamond Shield, and there are others. A friend of mine has been using 3M stuff for more than 10 years. He's never had a problem with it yellowing, getting stuck on, or ruining paint.
