RE: Under What Criteria . . .

does a thread get "closed" versus "deleted". Seems like, as I had said, you're not allowed to talk bad about the U.S. I wonder if that is in the rules and I missed it?
Funny how threads go on for days and people talk down Mexico. I guess people don't realize that the Rv.Net is seen and participated in internationally.
This section of the forum is not about the US. However, you not infrequently post negatively about the US. For example, From yesterday
This thread is closed.

RE: Syncing 2 Iphones with Itunes

According to MacWorld, you should set up separate iCloud accounts for syncing and backup. You can use the same id for iTunes purchases.

RE: Deleting My Forum Entries

You have a new computer so what I suggested is not the problem.
Have you tried going through a different portal (Woodall's instead of RV.Net)?
Check your settings. They may be to high to allow the program to work. You could also unplug your modem a few minutes and plug it back in to reset it. If left on all the time they can get corrupted. Check all connections to computers, phone or cable jacks, etc. Any poor connection could cause data loss and the problem you see.
I'm not ruling out that there is a problem with his account on the forum. However, if possible, the next step is to see what happens on another computer.

RE: Computer Security

and what was the ratio of windows computers to the others?
I didn't talk about Windows workstations, just servers.
Once we got that Sasser virus, the Windows server was down for 2 weeks , MS couldn't fix it fast because it's a French version.
No I don't run Ubuntu updates. They bring headache more often than not.
So its Windows fault that a virus got by a weak firewall ?
There was plenty of blame to spread around for the Sasser Worm infestation, which brought several large companies and many smaller ones to s stand still.
Microsof released a security update. A Russian hacker reversed engineer the update and created the Sasser worm to attack the vulnerabilities the update patched. The worm couldn't affect systems that had applied the update. So, one might immediately lay blame on IT departments that didn't push out the patch that was released by Microsoft 3 weeks before the Sasser outbreak. IT departments could also be blamed for poorly configured firewalls.
The experience with Sasser changed the way a lot of IT departments processed security updates.

RE: Deleting My Forum Entries

If the email option looks like the one in this picture
http://i55.tinypic.com/2exakw5.jpg width=640
with a blue On, the the email option is off. The On is a link to turn on the email option.
How many subscriptions do you have on the page?
I suggest that you clear cookies and temporary Internet files. If that doesn't clear up you problem, the next step would be to see what happens using another computer.

RE: Deleting My Forum Entries

There are no tech problems that I know of - I am not having trouble deleting subscriptions.
You need to tell us how you are trying to delete (Merrykalia described how) and what happens when you click on the delete button. (Make sure you are clicking on the correct delete button; there is one for each subscription section.

RE: RV permits for traveling in Mexico

Rvdusky,
Welcome to the forum.
While you are waiting for responses, you should read Turtle-Toad's excellent New and Improved Border FAQ's. If you don't find all you need there, at least you will be able to refine your questions.

RE: Spammers using Private Messages system?????

Private messages should not be posted in the forum without the permission of both parties.
As a general rule, we do not get involved in private messages; we have no access to them. If you want to complain about a private message, you can contact a moderator. We do take note and if we see a pattern of abuse, administration will become involved.
For the situation of the thread, I will send a private message to the sender.

RE: Pemex Employees Pay to Work

I keep wondering what an appropriate Tip to the Fuel Pump attendant should be!
i.e. My Tracker has a very Small Gas Tank , usual Fillup is $200 Pesos. I usually Tip 5 Pesos to the Pump Man (Woman) and another 5 if the Windows are washed (Seldom) this Year.
My RV takes a whole lot more Fuel , however it isn't any tougher to fill than the Tracker. I usually Tip 20 ~ 30 Pesos depending upon the friendliness or lack of same ,of the Pump Attendant. One Woman in Los Mochis has been there for as many Years as I can Remember. I give Her 40 Pesos, as she seems to Remember Me each Year.Only once did I let someone clean the Windshield,The Job the guy did was terrible and I eventually took over and did It Myself! He still expected a Tip so I gave Him 5 Pesos anyway for the effort.
Again "Am I Tipping an appropriate amount?"
So as to Not Hyjack the thread a PM would be the right response!
Why not copy your post and start a new thread?

RE: Searching EA+

I don't think it matters what you put with the +, you are going to get an error.
The + is not a valid character, as far as the search engine is concerned.
We have a few usernames that have + in them. Those names are not searchable. If you click on view posts for such a name, you will get an error message.

RE: Posting pictures from Flickr

rydabyk,
What our forum's software is looking for is a simple URL to the picture, such as
http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6211/6256966293_62da9aa1ee_z.jpg
Placing the URL in the message window's image tool, http://www.rv.net/SharedContent/cfb/images/editortoolbar/image.gif
Will produce this picture
http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6211/6256966293_62da9aa1ee_z.jpg
