RE: 36 LED dome light $6.99 ea.

I got them in about 10 days. They are white lights and very bright. The red wire goes to the + the yellow goes to the - light stays on. If the black wire is connected to - slide switch on light will operate. I bought 4 and just ordered 4 more. I posted this as information. If they are not something you want. I guess I really do not care, but maybe others do.
I messaged the seller about the lumins and he said they were 'about' 400lm. ?? :h

I don't believe it will run without a good 12v source.

RE: Defrost fans

You might try turning on the 'dome light' switch. On mine it is above the headlight switch-a click past bright on the dash dimmer.

RE: Ticks!

From the CDC....
How to remove a tick
1. Use fine-tipped tweezers and protect your fingers with a tissue, paper towel, or latex gloves. Avoid removing ticks with your bare hands.
2. Grasp the tick as close to the skin surface as possible and pull upward with steady, even pressure. Don't twist or jerk the tick; this can cause the mouth-parts to break off and remain in the skin. If this happens, remove the mouth-parts with tweezers. If you are unable to remove the mouth easily with clean tweezers, leave it alone and let the skin heal.
3. After removing the tick, thoroughly disinfect the bite and your hands with rubbing alcohol, an iodine scrub, or soap and water.

RE: Ticks!

If you don't have tweezers, you might try this:
"Reported by a nurse:
"I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great because it works in those places where it's sometimes difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc."
"Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20); the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.
This technique has worked every time I've used it (and that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me.."
"Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers. She used this method and immediately called me back to say, "It worked!"
Folks, listen.....pull them out as soon as possible, gently, with tweezers. Snopes says false There are many old wives tales out there and even more here on the internet amongst ignorant well wishers. If in doubt, call your DR. or your Vet.:R

RE: Water Heater Full?

Atwood recommends that the valve be operated a couple of times a year by opening it and letting it snap shut. I think that may help keep the valve seat clean but I don't know for sure.
They also say to open it during the air pocket renewal procedure.
I have opened mine a number of times over the last 8 eight years and it still works fine, does not leak and has not required replacement.

RE: Know your prices!!!!

Yep! And make sure that everything scanned and paid for get bagged and put in your cart. We've got home to find items missing-call the store and they were found next to the register and returned to the shelves.

RE: Headlight restoration project

Now, if you'd keep a regular regimen of rubbing '303'(SPF 40 for your things) on them, they might last a little longer. My '94 Dodge's are still clear as new.

RE: Hartford (AARP) insurance

Yep, my wife's Jaguar ran over some junk and ripped out the radiator, AC condenser and mufflers. Hartford told our garage to go to a junkyard and get used parts to fix it. We refused and Hartford sent us a check for $900 on a $2800 repair. They refused to put in rebuilt parts never mind new parts. They suck.
Went round and round with them and their reply was "get a lawyer" knowing full well it would cost us more to hire a lawyer than we would get back. Did I say Hartford sucks? Got Travelers now. Don't know if they are any better but the same price.
Unfortunately, most insurance companies will put used parts on to fix a collision repair when they can find them. This is usually stated in the policy which most people don't read......
It is usually stated as "reconditioned" or something like that. That means getting it from the junkyard and then cleaning it.
And just where are they going to find used servicable parts for a MH that's been in an accident? A little different for a car or truck where there's millions of each model made.

RE: accumulator

Because it is a variable speed pump and comes on slow with the slightest flow. An acumulator tank would not do anything.

RE: fire extinguisher - fact or myth?

If they are mounted horizontally, the extinguishers will be much less likely to cake; just like required upon boats. They'll still cake, just not as bad at the end of the pickup tube. More likely to work but still need to be loosened up regularly.

RE: fire extinguisher - fact or myth?

I know it probably doesn't need saying, but keep in mind that this is only for dry chemical/powder extinguishers.....I rough up my 10# Dry chemical home extinguishers several times a year but started carrying 3-5# Halon extinguishers in the MH. They're good to go anytime and non toxic to us or our animals for short duration. Non corrosive, Highly effective, & don't need to be whacked upside down.

RE: Hot water flow very low

I had a low flow problem, found check valves were OK, and continued looking. Under the faucets, where the flex attaches, I found a strainer. Clogged with white calcium deposits from the H2O heater. I removed those strainers and now the ones at the faucet discharge are the ones to clog, but easy to get to & clean.
