RE: New Yory City Area RV Parks

Closest is a "Parking Lot" across the river in Jersey City NJ. Liberty Harbor. Not much for amenities but easy access to city. Heres some reviews for it

RE: Watkins Glen Or Pocono Raceway?

Agree with other posters on Dover. You will be better off there 1st time if get seats on front stretch higher then row 15 or anywhere in the turns will be able to see whole track. As said before at the Glen you can see only part of the track. Pocono unless you get seats high up you cant see the whole track and the tunnel turn is so far away its hard to see the action from any seat. At all you will be dry camping so a generator is a must to run the AC and charge the batteries as it gets HOT at times.

RE: Point Lookout State Park, Md

As others have said very nice park with crushed stone pads and lots of space. Last time there in mid July for the week hot as H..l and the mosquito's were horrendous unless by the water where the green heads would get ya. Great crabbing as we would get our fill in about an hour the times we did and even had more to clean and bring home. Preferred the dog beach which was not as crowded as the regular one and had a great time with our golden and husky mix there. If stay there stock up on food etc as nothing is in or close to the park. Small store about 5 miles away,

RE: Having window awnings installed-question

Another Yes as if windy in a storm the smaller one can still keep the rain out and allow the the window to be open without the risk of loosing the big one.

RE: When to turn on or off our water pump?

???? I always thought that when using city water and then turning on the pump the added pressure was being supplied from the pump drawing water from your fresh water tank water not the city side... At least in my 3 MH's that was the case.

Any catch the new Bud 9/11 commercial?

Remake of the 2001 one but no snow and shows the Freedom Tower being built on Ground 0 in the skyline..
As an aside to the commercial when down at the Bristol Nascar race in August camping in our MH, They were there all weekend in an area by the track in a special tent with metal pens like you would see at the county fair. On the tent above each horse was their name and in the middle was KING the Dalmatian who would freely walk around and let all pet him> Our dog and King met. To see these Horses up close is impressive and are beautiful animals and the daily care they get talking to the handlers is amazing(it takes about a 1/2 hr per horse to get them groomed, ribbons etc and hooked to the cart for a show) Also to see the Haulers they transport them in unreal.Bud 9/11

RE: winterizing

I have also blown out my lines with air on our past 3 MH's for 30 yrs with no problems. For the pump I just disconnect the in and out lines and turn it on to clear any water in it.

RE: Close to the Statue of Liberty

Unfortunately there is no way to avoid toll roads(NJ TPK) from Philly to Jersey City. As for a way to Liberty Harbor I would suggest this route from Bing Maps after going to I295 outside of Philly in NJ to get to exit 7 on the NJ Tpk Best route.

Another vote for Shenandoah Valley Campground. Have stayed there various times and have no problem with in/out on their few 50 amp sites.. Also have stayed in the 30 amp sites when 50 not available with no problem..Very nice place In DW & My opinion. Link

RE: Overnight I-80 central New Jersey

Nothing in NJ that is off I80 that can think of. Look around the Strasbourg PA area (Delaware Water Gap). Even from that area should have no problem getting to Jersey City by mid morning. Should be 2 hours at most from PA unless there is an accident. Here is a link to bing maps that you may find useful getting to Liberty Harbor It is for leaving Liberty Harbor to get to the Garden State Prkwy but you can modify. Hope this helps.. Best Route
