I have found Crestview to be reliable (at least the branch in Georgetown).

RE: Route Plan Taller MH - First Major Trip In New-To-Us Rig

There are several software programs that are a help such as this one
http://www.lowclearances.com/
Garmin makes GPS models that warn of low clearances. I also think Rand McNally has one.

RE: Favorite RV park near College Station Texas

Marino Road rv park is old, but has everything that you need.
www.bcsmarinoroadrv.com/
Aggieland RV park is new and looks nice.
As noted above, make your reservations well in advance. It might be easier to find something in a surrounding town such as Hearne, Navasota, or Brenham.
Wish I still lived there, You could park in my driveway.

RE: R V Park in colorado

The Olympic athlete training village is interesting. Visitors can enter the north entrance of the Academy and it is worth the time. If you go, be sure to see the chapel. It is an architectural gem.

RE: Motorhome inspector for Houston TX area

If he is around, Brett Wolfe, a member of this forum, is an excellent inspector. I do not have his address, but he will probably see your message on this forum.

RE: Driving up hills in a gasser

I have a 2009 326 hp v10 with a Banks Power Pack on a Ford F53. On steep hills and mountain passes 30-40 mph is all you will be able to do. As stated above the V10 is a high rpm engine and it likes running a 3000 to 4000 rpm. I stick my foot in the carburator under those circumstances.

RE: Ford F53 Suspension Upgrade

Trac-bar on the rear, Safe-T-Plus on the front. Not cheap but does the job.

RE: Spare key for Ford Chassis

You have to get it from a Ford dealer if it is a later model. I know for sure that is the case 2006 and later.

RE: Anybody have experience with Banks IQ

I just installed one. The display is nice, but the options are more for a trucker than an rver. Mine is installed in a V10 and I am really disappointed that it does not have a tranny temp readout. Supposedly that is coming in the future.
If you talk to the tech support guys instead of customer service I have found them to be knowledgeable.

RE: Banks Power Pack on F53

I have it on a 2009 and it does increase low end torque. We drive in the mountains towing a car a lot and it helps going up grades. I can.t see that it does much for fuel mileage.

RE: Power or manual driver's side window shades

I replaced the driver's window manual sunblock shade with a motorized one so that I can be lowered while driving by simply pushing a button. It really comes in handy when the sun is shining into that window. Mine are made by MCD.

RE: tru trac suspension device, have you used them ?

If it is a late model Ford F53, it has a front trac-bar. I echo the above comment, a rear trac-bar and Safe-t-Plus make a tremendous difference in any chassis that is on leaf springs. I have been doing business with Henderson's Line-Up for years. They are honest, knowledgeable, and have competitive prices.
