RE: I love CW, but...

I've done quite a bit of online shopping as I don't get into a Campworld very often. That being said the product either in the store or online do top the scales on the higher side. The other most unfortunate thing that I see happening is the quality if products for sale for camping is sliding down the tubes. Some of the items I see in any store that claims to be for camping are so flimsy and cheaply designed it makes me wonder why the stores even bother wasting the sales space for them other than raking in the oversized prices that are being asked for them.

RE: Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Thank Big Oil, for the huge middle finger. And you can forget the niceties of "we're lending a helping hand and dropping the price .02 last week." I see you got it all back and then some this week. Crude oil speculators beware, there is a huge target on your back.

RE: Yamaha EF2400iSHC Gen Who running their AC from one?

What am I doing wrong? Have a 2400i and that ac comes on everytime I start it. runs everything in our rv that I want it to, always run the carb dry when the trip is over so as not to leave any stray gas in there to mess things up, start it every couple months just to run some has though the lines and give it some exercise. Have used it in Midwest mostly, Wi. Oh. Iowa. Bought it after a severe ice storm and the Yamaha shop which had been closed through the weekend had the only gen sets in town on a Monday morning. Glad they were cause I love what I ended up with.
Oh and although I've considered putting in a hard start capacitor, I haven't done so in either camper Ive had since ive had the generator.

RE: I am so excited...camping season begins!

I would like to but it's not gonna happen for at least a month. Just brought the DW home today from the hospital after surgery on Tuesday. At least a month recoup time. Won't stop me from getting it ready and maybe adding a couple new gadgets.

RE: Think I found one

The price is very good, maybe too good. The Rvision products are on the lower end of the market but if you can do some simple matainence you should be good. The tires would need to go. I thought just as you did when I bought our last one, the tread looked fine but within 12 months all five went bad. ( no joke ) My friends just traded a trail sport TT and I remember the slide leaked when it was out but was only minor. They had trouble with the rubber roof pulling away from the vent areas a couple times too.
It is what it is.

RE: Need an opinion from the "weight police"

I agree. I just went to the landfill with mine last weekend and the Dodge dually crew cab was only 7920 with a full tank, hitch and me inside.

RE: Who uses a gas TV with their 5th wheel?

Don't be scared of the rpm's. And yes the mileage will be a little low. I don't think I'm quite at ten k for weight but it's probably close. It gets me where I need to go with no problem.
Recently purchased a diesel but it's for business and I haven't pulled a thing yet.

RE: Two couples..two small dogs ...one coach ?

While I would agree 60 nights would be quite a while, if it is broken up with cabin stays or maybe both rvs could go a certain distance. Then jump into one and travel together for prime destinations.
I am a bit surprised at some comments with people having grand rvs and not finding their own personal space even when it's jus a couple. I guess my family and friends travel a little differently. While we may not always pile up and sleep several to an rv, we do have a few scheduled trips and look for a friend or two to go along to help share travel expenses. We do this because thee and things we all want to experience and shared expenses les us all do that with more money for attractions once we get there. I wouldn't do this with all my friends but only with the ones I could live with as I would guess may be the case with the friends your considering asking as well.

RE: Jacking up trailer for flat tire

Well I guess that only makes sense. If the trailer could be supported on only one axle, they wouldn't have put two under there would they.

RE: What ever happned to RVTV?

There hasn't been a whole lot of "travel" on the Travel channel for a long time. Most time slots are taken up with feeding someone's face or freeloading with a camera crew. Several are trying to see what kind of truly gross foods someone can stuff down their throats.

RE: Wisconsin Dells without breaking the bank?

Baraboo hills campground south of the dells off hwy 12 on Terrytown road. Probably 15 mile I would guess. Could go to the Ringling bros. circus in Baraboo too.
I have stayed at Indian Trails Campground north of Pardeeville, Wi. and driven to the Dells. Around 30-40 miles south east. It is a really nice campground the rv.net members of Wisconsin hold their fall rally. Fun times.

RE: I-80 W or I-90 W From MI to Mt. Rushmore ??

If you go out on 80, stop by just west of Iowa City and pick me up. I'm looking to go out to Rushmore too, but a little to early to tell yet.

RE: dmax fuel economy problem

Air filters aren't expensive and they can seal over making air pass thru a lot harder and decreasing mileage.

RE: Tips to make the pull out couch more comfortable to sleep on

We added the foam and also some more springs. In my opinion, there are only about half the right amount of springs on there from the factory. I found a few at a local hardware store but I think I still new about half a dozen more. I not in much of a hurry tho, I like having the camper all to ourselves.

RE: Wiring Problem

I did a little more research and after calling Hopkins Manuacturing to double check I found a four flat plug that plugs into the taillights and basically bypassing the factory system for trailer lights. (the actory system seems to have some problems) I can hard wire that into a seven round along with the constant hot and the brake feed.
And, on another note, our favorite rv dealer, Ketelsen RV has graciously rounded up a decent set of used bed rails and install kit for my truck totally free of charge. They are the greatest.
