RE: Used Class C--maybe

My 24' Class C is perfect for me and my dog. Most Bs don't have full baths, as mine does, and lack the tank capacities of a C. It's only a few feet longer than a B but has so much more storage and living space and can also tow a 'toad'. The 6 cubic foot refrigerator is nice, too!
I sleep on the pull-out sofa. I don't want a permanent bed taking up valuable space and prefer not to climb the ladder to the cabover. The cabover provides valuable space for coats and bedding. Only thing I don't like about mine is the swivel chair and fold-down table 'lounge' area rather than a booth dinette. I like a booth dinette with more storage under the benches and a bigger table for computer, etc. But it's the perfect sized coach for one, IMHO.

RE: Well, I'm now among the leaky group

Home Depot had a wheeled scaffold at a reasonable price How reasonable? That's what I need to reach my cabover in order to wash and wax it. Can't get to the middle of it on a ladder.

RE: Went to look at a bigfoot

If he was a really good salesman, he would drive it to your house for you to look at. On his day off.

RE: Why do I get "dues notices" in the mail all the time?

I am a member and get renewal notices many months before they are due. I just toss them without even opening them. Fortunately, I keep track of when I paid so I know when it's due. Good Sam is not the only company who does this and I suppose they're hoping you'll renew early. I get notices from magazines I haven't gotten in ten years!

Every time we've been there it's been pouring rain but still a nice park. Hope your issues are all one simple fix, like a fuse or something.

RE: Class C RV Caulking

My understanding is that 3M 5200 is a sealant, not caulking. Two different products for two different applications.

RE: President's Club+Good Sams Junk mail

Go to the Good Sam website and opt out of receiving mail.
Yes, it takes some time to receive new card. You may not get one though. I heard, not sure if it is fact, that they are cutting costs on mailings. You need to write new expiration date on card. Sound strange to cut costs in one area and not in the massive mailing advertising areas.
I opted out of the mailings a long time ago. Now, if only I could do that with AARP! I haven't renewed our membership in years but the junk keeps coming...

RE: THE UGLY

Dryer Sheets, Dan. With little effort, they handle love bugs in Fl and anything Utah can throw at you. Just don't forget to wet them or you'll be there all day. Make sure they are used dryer sheets or they can leave a film. They really do work, though. Use a handful of them at a time.

RE: Marcus and his involvement here.

Keeping a finger on the customer's pulse is a good way to stay in business. He's got the right idea. I think what we've been saying for several years is Don't take us for granted. Just because we love RVing doesn't mean we're going to keep doing business with a company that doesn't care about its customers. Mr. Lemonis seems to be really turning things around!

RE: kicked out, ticket while boondocking

There are instances of BLM land boondockers in AZ who have been banned from BLM land because of infractions of the rules. And rightfully so. As others have said, make sure you know the rules and follow them.

RE: for diebetic and/or weight lose wishers

I'm not diabetic, nor am I overweight, but I love Dreyer's Slow Churned Sugar Free vanilla ice cream. It's delicious!!!! It does have 100 calories per 1/2c. serving but I can afford that for dessert.

RE: State Parks in Texas

For bird enthusiasts, you can't beat Goose Island State Park. Camping available, with lots of birds to view. As a bonus, there is Aransas National Nature Preserve about 20 miles northeast of Goose Island. Both areas are nesting sites for the Whooping Crane, plus dozens of other birds.
Another nice park is Bentsen State Park in the RGV. No camping there, and you have to stay in a RGV campground while you're there, but definitely worth it for a few days. LOTS of exotic birds there.
Yep, I didn't mention the birding but it's the best in the country. Big Bend is a terrific place for winter birding.
