RE: Camper started 7,600 acre Colorado fire

Ediots don't just live in the west. Two years ago we were camping at Stephen Foster SP. in Florida. The camp site next to ours had a father and his two suns. It was misting and the father told the one sun to get rid of the hot charcoal. The kid threw it on the ground in the brush. A couple hours later my wife hollered that there was a fire in the next camp site. I ran out hollering fire and grabbed our spare hose and the neighbor on the other side came with his hose. Lucky thay had a 2 hose bib on the water. Luckly we got it out before it had a chance to spread into all the dead brush. The fire company came and made sure that three were no smoldering embers. I heard that they had to pay for the cost of the fire company to come out.

RE: 2005 Ford V - 10

I have a 2005 but it sits on a 2004 chassis. What year is the chassis that you are looking at? Mine has the 2 valve and not the 3 valve. It is the 310 horse power.

RE: '99 Ford F 53 V10 straining up hills

We have a 2005 35 ft with the v10. We went to PA 10 days ago from Fl and went up I77 over Fancy Gap. It pulled the mountain in 3rd gear at 4200 rpm. On the way back we went I64 from I81 to US 288 in Richmond. Again we pulled the moutain in 3rd gear at 3900 rpm. We were pulling a 3100 lb hhr and groused out at 21949. We have the 5star tuning and the y pipe and no cat. Going up we averaged 8.2 mpg and comng back to Fl we averaged 8.3. We used cruise control and let the tranny select the gear.

RE: Does such a thing as a decent gasser exist?

To buy a gasser or deseil depends on how much mileage you plan on doing. We have a 2005 Georgie Boy on a 2004 f53 chassis. It has the 415 cbi with the 310 horse power. We installed the 5startuning in it and love it. We just came up I26 TO I77 to I81 and climbed the mountains at 40 mph in 3rd gear. We came up a 14 percent 3/4 mile grade at 30 mph in 2nd gear from a dead stop. We tow a 2008 HHR that weighs 3100 lbs. Our total weight was 21,900 lbs.

If Executive is a true executive and he reads and understands like what he posted then that company must be in trouble.

RE: Walmart overnighting yes or no?

When I was an over the road truck driver I spent many nights in a Walmart parking lot. Now that I am retired we still spend overnight in a Walmart. I have never had any problems. I am still waiting to see Supreme Court Justice Thomas in one. He and his wife stay in them when traveling too.

RE: RV's

We bought our 35 ft rv in 2009. It was 4 years old. We saw it on ebay and went to look at it. The place we bought it goes to auctions and repos. I gave him a bid that was way under what he advertised and was really shocked when he said ok. It was even way under nada low retail.
Sometimes just being in the right place at the right time is what it takes. Our friends have small TT and its not what you have "but the fun and memories you make".

RE: Suspension adjustments

I made my own trac bar. I went to www.oemys-performance.com
I clicked on trac bar and used the sample to make it. I found the cross member bar at tractor supply. The bracket for the frame and for the pumpkin I took to a metal frabrication company. Altogether it cost less than $100.00.

RE: Re-Carpeting the dog house

I replaced the carpet from behind the front seats to the firewall. I also did the dog house. I used the carpet I took off the dog house as a template. I cut it bigger both on the floor and the dog house so I could make sure it would fit. Some people that have done this took teh contact cement off the dog house. Before I put the carpet on the dog house I just put new contact cement over the old. It will soften it up and will act like it is new again. ALso put contact cement on the carpet for the dog house. On the floor I just used staples. I used a compressor and a nail gun. You can also use a heavy duty staple gun. When you buy your new carpet do not buy looped carpet. If snag it it will come undone and you will need to replace it again. Guess how I know.

RE: rear electrical outlet

Thanks everyone for all the great info. I finally found an electrical box in my cable bay. After opening I found wires that had come out of the wire nut. Who ever wired the coach cut the wires to short and had pressure on the wires and they pulled apart. After moving the box and connecting the wires and using the socket tester everything works as advertised.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Finally finished putting the allure flooring down. Took two and a half months to get in the last two boxes I needed. They said my DW picked the most popular pattern. Now just need to finish the trim and put the toilet back in.

RE: RV Carpet Replacement

Do you have a friend or a buisness that has room to let you do it yourself? AS mentioned, use the old carpet as a template and make your cut bigger. I used a small air compressor and a air gun with staples when I put the new carpet down.
