RE: Securing Genturi to side of coach - How did you do it?

I made my own version of the Genturi, I was lucky and there is a window above where the exhaust comes out from the generator.
So I made a bracket using aluminum and two suction cups.

RE: Fluid Leaking From Rear Wheel

it a floating axle. If you take out the 12 bolts your axle will slide out.
your rear end lube will come out.
clean the old seal off put on new seal and slide axle back in. Replace bolts.
Sometimes the axle can be a pain to get spline lined up.
Check rear end oil replace as needed.

RE: Winegard Carry Out antenna

My Carryout does that, I was told it was because of Earths rotation
The Dish and Direct TV satellites are in geosynchronous orbit (follow the earth rotation)

RE: DDWRT Repeater question

I haven't used mine in over a year but something tells me you have to match the security used... IE if the far side AP (access point) is using WEP the local one must use WEP if the far side AP is using WPA the local side should use WPA.... Etc..
I could be wrong but I think I remember reading something about that

RE: Recyling 1 lb. propane tanks?

Throw them in the freezer for about 20 minutes and then fill them. They will fill much faster and fuller.
Pogoil.
+1 on the freezer thing,
For my own peace of mind, I only refill the 1 lb tanks 3 times. I put an X on them for each refill.

RE: '08 Monaco Cayman 35

As an owner of a 2008 cayman (replaced trailing arms) I can say we love the coach. Everything has been good with the coach, we have taken it cross country,
As for the ride it is a huge upgrade from our previous gas coach. We did replace the front shocks to Koni FSD's.
Tranny may be 2500 but it is still an Alison rated for 33k lbs and the cayman is rated to tow 7500lbs. We towed 3500lbs (CRV) cross country.
Because of our experience with this coach, I would definitely buy another Monaco. Even with the trailing arm issue.

RE: Air Brakes Won't Release

You just have corrosion build up. Best thing is just go to reverse. 9 out of 10 times that will release the brakes.

RE: Why are air brakes used on DP instead of a

If the chassis makers were not so cheap they would have air disk brakes. Air drum meet presant minimum stopping standards. When standards are increased enough you will see all vehicles with disks. In europe all large trucks have disks. My 2008 Workhorse UFO chassis with hydralic disks has the best brakes you will find on a motorhome. It will outstop any drum airbrake equiped motorhome with the same weight by far. All hydralic brakes have a double master cylinder, so if you get a leak you will not loose brakes to both axles, plus you have the parking (emergency brake) as a backup. I was raised riding in trucks, and you name it, and I have driven it, and the worse brakes on a new vehicle are by far better then the best brakes they had when I started driving.
Actually, According to wikipedia,
Due to the fact that a drum brakes friction contact area is at the circumference of the brake, a drum brake can provide more braking force than an equal diameter disc brake. The increased friction contact area of drum brake shoes on the drum allows drum brake shoes to last longer than disc brake pads used in a brake system of similar dimensions and braking force.

RE: Class A fuel cost per mile for 2012

I have a suggestion.... Swipe it, Fill it and go have fun. Don't even look at the cost.
Owning an RV is expensive. It isn't going to get cheaper. Have fun while you can afford it. As soon as you can't afford it get rid of it.

RE: Safe Steer Systems

old coach (Chevy p30) came with steer safe I always thought it handled good.
New coach (Roadmaster RR4R) Didn't come with it, I put 6k mile on it, After and alignment, I thought it drove great.
I installed steer safe before our trip cross country. I immediately noticed the improvement in tracking, Semi Suck (trucks passing), pot holes pulling etc...
I now have over 10k on it with steer safe, I will put steer safe on all my future coaches.
