Towing a Car

Need info on towing a car behind a Class C motor home. I have no info on this. Should I toll or use a dolly? I have a 2005 Honda Pilot.

RE: Consignment of your RV

I lowered the price to the lowest I am willing to go and thru in an A frame pin box stalilizer and now have 3 people interested. 1 is coming out tommorow. I guess I hit the right price and people are looking and getting anxious. Hope so. It is still better than consignment or trading in.

RE: Help --- Looking for a bottle jack

Pick up 1 wheel on one axle on one trailer. 2 ton should do it.
I tried to use a 2ton on my 32 Ft. trailer and it would not move. 6 ton will work but is straining. Use at least an 8 ton jack on a 10000 lb. trailer.

RE: PDI Tomorrow - Black Water Tank Questions!

Are the new units equipped with frame sway supports on the spring mounts to stop frame cracking? The manufactures are well awhere of this problem. Theses are steal tubes going from one side to the other conected at the spring hangers.

RE: Leaf Spring Bracket sheared off- pictures

You think it's fixed? The 4 spring hangers, shackles and frame cracking are all tied to gether. Caused by side to side movement/stress. The weakest point will break. Put in stronger bolts and hangers and twist the frame more. The lighter cheap frames, which is most trailers now, tend to crack first. There are frame support kits out now to help control this stress. The supports are steal tubing connected to the spring hangers and spring mounts to stop the flexing of hangers at the frame. The entire design is bad! The top of the trailers sway from side to side with the spring mounts and the frame being the pivot points.

RE: Consignment of your RV

I just got an offer from an arshol claiming they were out of town but would have their agent pick-up THE ITEM after paying for it thru paypal. If they will not deal in person, it is a scam. This scammer referred to my trailer as an item because they don't care what they steal so long as they can resale it. Seems you get alot of these people on craigslist, a hang out for jerk scammers. Craigslist has a endless amount of scammers, both buyers a sealers.

RE: Slideout Question.

What do you think will happen if you left it opened? If you could not leave it open, what good is it to have. It might fall out?

RE: Consignment of your RV

Do a search on "PPL", the largest consignment around. Many forum users bought/sold through them.
That is great if you live in Texas, I don't. WE are in Northen California. Texas is too far for me to consign. Thanks any way.

RE: Rv ladder

I have had different dealers tell me that if it does not come with a ladder, it is not a strong roof. I have ordered on 3 different 5th wheels the upgraded roof as an option. These all came with ladders. If buying off a lot, buy one that has a ladder because of the stronger roof.

RE: Cracks in Dexter StructuraI I-Beams on Jayco 5th Wheel

The trailer manufactures should be recalling trailers to install supports such as the Mor-Ride X-Factor. Maybe we need class action. I believe the manufactures, trailer and frame, all know about this problem. Shame on these jerks! I recentally found a brocken spring eye bolt. The same force that tweaks the frame is what caused the eye bolt to break because the bolt was weaker than the frame.

RE: Slide moves while traveling

Slide locks and slide bars are not the same thing. Slide locks are pins that lock the slide in place. Slide Rods/Bars are rods that go between the slider and the wall when the slider is in to prevent slide from opening when traveling. If your electric slide moves out while traveling, you then need to use slide rods or slide pin locks.

RE: Slide moves while traveling

Why are you not using the slide travel rods? The electric slides are supposed to have these to prevent the problem you are having. Here is a hint, use the travel rods/bars and your problem will stop.
Some people, like me, have FW's that apparently don't need these. Neither my dealer, the manual, nor Komfort (when I called them and asked), said there was any need for a slide lock.
Lyle
If you have hydraulic slides you do not use rods or bars. The hydraulic fluid pressure alone holds the slider in. Electric slides use the rods or bars.

RE: Slow market or what?

I am on Craigslist, the unit is paid for,I have it in RV Trader on line, and TTs are easier to sell because of the prices are lower than a 5th wheels.

RE: Electrical Problem

I am thinking your site is not a campground. If it was, it would not be an RV campgroung. It is suitable for tents only. Find a better place or are you trying to save money?

Slow market or what?

Been trying to sale my 5th wheel and buy a C class motor home. No responses on the trailer. It's a nice unit and not overly priced. Is the market down on resale or are people going to dealers now because of financing? Should I be going the consignment way with a dealer?

RE: Forgot to close tank valves

Your lucky someone didn't see the stinky stuff coming out at the campground. I would have thought the smell would have been noticed! Nothing to do now, it happens.
