RE: Setting up DirecTV

My experience: We have 3 DirecTV HD DVRs at home with only one hooked to an HD TV. The HD TV uses HDMI cable input the other 2 use RCA jack input. We take two of these receivers with us in the MH and hook to old CRT TVs using a Winegard Carryout portable dome. One of the TVs in the MH has only coax input, at least without removing it from the dash, so I purchased an RF modulator at Wally World that converts RCA jack input to coax output. Winegard carryout works great. We recently took a 5 week trip and had no problems but you must read and follow the Winegard insructions for setup. Receiver dish configuration must be changed for use with the Carryout from the HD dish at home.

RE: winegard carryout satellite antenna

I have the Carryout and use it with DirecTV HD receivers. You have to reset the recievers for a different dish when using them with the Carryout. Works great but as stated you do not get HD. We don't have HD receivers in the MH so no problem for us. The manual gives the correct settings.

RE: Is this hitch set-up possible?

I have a Demco baseplate and Demco rigid A-frame two bar that requires a 10 inch drop to get level with my 2006 HHR. My 10 inch drop receiver hitch has a roller on the bottom. I've logged over 8,000 miles with this setup with no problems. You do have to be aware of it when entering gas stations and campgrounds etc. Even with the roller I avoid drastic inclines since even with the roller I would fear damage to the hitch and/or MH frame. We go to the local Walmart to hook/unhook as our MH drive has an incline. I suspect "Executive"/Dennis probably has a hidden type baseplate that has a removable hookup to his towbar. I believe Demco recommends +/- 3 inches from level so I could go to an 8 inch drop.

RE: removing gas

How about the fuel line to the generator? Should be somwhere around the 1/4 tank level. Might be an easier way to get at least 3/4 of the tankful.

RE: Windows Explorer 8

Update: I downloaded FireFox and I am not experiencing the same problems I was wit IE. I am connecting first time every time with FF and it does seem faster. JackTWD, I did everything you listed at the bottom of your post several times to no avail. I didn't think about the restore function so I will give that a try to see if it fixes the problem with IE. The problem started overnite. Was fine when I went to bed and couldn't connect the next morning. Ability to connect was very sporadic until I started using the no add-ons function. This is an old desktop at home. Didn't have any problems with laptop while we were on the road with MH for 31 days Jan-Feb.
Thanks for all the input everyone.

Windows Explorer 8

About a week and a half ago I started experiencing problems logging on to the internet. Old desktop, Windows XP, Comcast broadband. When I try to log on it says "connecting" but never connects. Rebooted computer and modem, no change. Contacted Comcast and got no help. Later tried connecting "without add-ons" and I wa able to connect and that is the only way I am able to connect up to now. Any suggestions?

RE: Air conditioner run off

Mudchucker . . several years ago Camping World sold a pan that mounted under the roof air that had a tube to run off the condensation. Don't know if they are still available or not but they required removing the unit to install them.

RE: Watch Satellite TV Programs Outside Your RV Wirelessly!

We use an X10 wireless video sender($60)to send DirecTV from living room to bedroom and we can also change channels from the bedroom. Going to buy another unit to send to my garage from the den and take along in MH for patio TV. The one we have is 900MHZ and only one transmit channel. The latest version is 2.4GHZ and has four transmit channels. Google X10 for more info. They also sell a lot of other wireless items.
Note: I am not affiliated with this company in any way.

Sorry, Sunflower is a 55+ resort, as are a lot of them in the Phoenix area. Be sure to check that in your search.

RE: luxury RV Parks near Phoenix

Sunflower RV Resort on N El Mirage RD. Just spent 11 days there. Short term spaces are kind of close together but the resort offers lots of amenities. If you stay for a month or longer they put you on larger lots mixed in with permanent park models. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Past the Branson exit on I-44 yesterday morning on our way home from TX several days ahead of schedule and the DW said we could go to Branson for a couple of days. Sure glad we didn't. Thoughts and prayers are with those involved.
