RE: Sea Breeze Motorhome

National made good coaches. Had an '89 Dolphin that I traded in for a 2000 Surf Side (also National) only because after 11 years, my Dad was having trouble getting into the passenger seat, and the Surf Side has more room up front. Never had a major problem with either.

RE: New reservation system for Oregon St Pks

If you don't like Reserve America, just call Oregon's reservation system directly. Or, don't worry about reservations and just go. That's what we do. : )

RE: Experience with Accu-check or One Touch Glucose Meters?

I also use One Touch and have found it to be accurate and easy to use. And if you ever have questions about your meter, their customer service is very friendly and helpful.

RE: Seabreeze Motorhome

As has been previously stated, our Surf Side was National's entry level coach. We had a Dolphin previous to the Surf Side and found that the amenities and quality were pretty equal except that the upholstery in the Surf Side is not as long wearing. But they are both well built coaches that I would highly recommend.

RE: Visiting Craters of the Moon NM in August

Craters is one of our favorite places. We try to stop whenever we're in the area and will be back again this August/September on our way to Yellowstone. If you don't need hookups, the campground in the monument is quite an experience. Otherwise, I recommend Mountain View.

RE: What is your most memorable/fun RV trip?

Most memorable as a kid were Yellowstone and Crater Lake. We were in a tent back then and the bears were very close. : )

RE: Kolob - a hidden treasure

Agreed. Kolob Canyon is terrific, especially if you don't have a lot of time. And we found the views to rival those in the main park.

Oregon 101 esp. south of Seaside

Flooding has caused road closures along this route. Be careful of standing water and mud/rock slides.

RE: Kaiser insurance question

Kaiser has always covered us on the road when we had an emergency, but your weekly blood tests are a special circumstance. Call them and ask about coverage. Policies vary a lot.

RE: From Interstate 15 to US 89 advice please

We like I-70 to 89 and then south. It is a nice road with few grades of any size and is very scenic.

If you don't need hookups, both Broken Arrow and Mazama are very nice.

RE: Taking Fido to yellowstone?

Have always taken the dog(s) along on trips, including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Arches, etc. Even when they didn't "love" traveling, they did love the camping.

RE: RVing in Pacific NW in late March?

I always had good luck just east of The Dalles during spring break. If you cross the bridge into Washington at Biggs, Oregon, Maryhill SP sits right along the Columbia River. It has full hookups and great views of the river. You might also check out Deschutes River SP on the Oregon side just west of Biggs but without sewer hookups. This area is known for early springs, but with the crazy weather we've had lately, who knows?

RE: OR Coast Route Help

I always choose the highway south of Eugene at the Drain exit. Pretty drive that takes you past an Elk preserve and a wonderful local museum just before you hit highway 101.
