RE: 50 amp to two 30 amp adapter & Progresssive Industies EMS

Progressive has asked me to return the 50A unit for repairs. I'll try to find out what went wrong and report back. MH is running fine hooked to the adapter.

RE: 50 amp to two 30 amp adapter & Progresssive Industies EMS

Sorry to be so slow getting back, I was just able to get back to this problem.
With DVM I retested ppower stations (30A). I got 124v from hot to ground and neutral on both stations. I then attached a 40 ft 30a extension cord to station "B" and tested the endof the extension cord. Basically same thing. So power stations and extension cord test good. I plugged one end of the "Y adapter" into the extension cord and the other end of the "Y adapter" into station "A". I then tested the 50a end of the adapter.
Either hot to either ground or neutral gave 124v
Neutral to ground gave 0 volts
Hot to hot gave 240v.
So it looked like I was good to go. Plugged inMotor home (without PI EMS-more on that later) and no magic smoke or fireworks. The Intelletect Smart EMS in the MH thinks I am connected to 50a even though I really only have 30 + 30. But I should be good for second AC now.??
The progrssive Industries EMS appears to have either sacrificed itself to 'protect' me or it committed suicide. When I now plug it in to power stand by itself it says that I it has 170v on L1 and 124v on L2 and still throws the E3 error code. There is also moisture on the inside of the little led window!?
I will be in contact with PI and see what they say.

50 amp to two 30 amp adapter & Progresssive Industies EMS

I have purchased an adapter as per the title. We are volunteering at a NF&W hatchery and are the only volunteers. They have two pads, both wired for 30A. We have a 50 A coach. We expect to hit some really high temperatures here this summer and would like to utilize both air conditioners without the hastle of trying to do it on one 30A service. Today I set up the adapter. I tested the adapter (commercial product) and it appears to be wired correctly. I plugged one 30 A leg of the adapter into our stand and the other leg of the adapter into the other pads stand and then plugged the 50 A end into the PI EMS. When I turned on the breakers the EMS gave an error of E3 which means high voltage on leg 1. And of course the EMS shut down and would not pass any current. It said leg 1 was like 220 volts! I disconnected it and used a DVM to test each standard. They appeared to be wired correctly. (I had previously attached the EMS to each stand independantly and it had said everything was fine).
This set up should work. Any ideas.?

RE: "Tailgater" for Dish Network satellite system promo code

Their "our price" is a little steep. With the 'special' $60.00 off it is then competitive with other offerings.

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

Had a new rig go in 200 yds west of us yesterday, H&P 468, with their own gate. Now we will get a lot of "lost" souls, as we just did, going to the rig....:B.
We are taking 4-5 days off, starting Tue, as our fridge is dying and we have a new Samsung residential fridge to get installed. Jamie said he would get a temp here for us and we would come back to our same gate, sure hope so.
Had a quick, heavy downpour yesterday, so we are back on waterfront property for a few days. Our frogs did not return though....
How is the residential fridge going to work out there. Are you on 24/7 generator? 50amps?
We replaced our Nevercold with a Samsung and have been very happy with it but we are always on shore power. When we do move we run the gender a couple of hours. Seems to hold temp good. We were afraid we had tricked ourselves out of being able to gate guard.

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

Thanks for the reply.
Could you recommend a decent cell booster. We have ATT cell phone and get in and out signal where we are. We have a Verizon MiFi that gets a fairly decent ssignal for the computer. Would like a better phone signal.
Thanks

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

If your booster gets a strong cellular signal, your MiFi should work
If your booster gets a strong signal why would you need the booster? Did you mean if the booster creates a strong signal?

RE: Who's Using Crossfire Dual Tire Pressure Equalization System

I am afraid that with the crossfire they would constantly read high,as in the tires are overinflated. With my TPMS I notice as much as a 15lb increase from the correct (by tire manufacturer table and weights)starting pressure due to temperature increase.

It is very possible that Tioga Pass (the connection from 395 to Yosemite and Sequioa) may not be open yet in June, so plan accordingly.

RE: Daily hours with NPS vs Oregon State Volunteering ..

Where will you be working in Idaho. We will be working in Hagerman for F&W April-Sept. We may not have as good a schedule as you though as it appears we will be 'on duty' 5 days/week. We should keep in touch and compare.
We are currently 'working' for COE in California.

My vote for 4 mile Creek. Roomy, beautiful spots. We stayed there in August 2010 right on the lake. Loved it.
