found a spot in sub floor

While getting ready to install a new floor covering in our MH, we discovered a soft spot in the sub floor. I haven't found the cause of it yet however. It is in the hallway by the door to the bedroom and next to the shower. I am ruling out a leak from the slides, roof and windows. I am thinking either the shower stall or the skylight. The sub floor is OSB and was wet but doesn't appear to be now. It is however very soft and spongy.
Could it be dry rot? And what is dry rot? Other times I have seen OSB wet, it expands and swells up, this is not.
In the shower stall, where the walls meet the shower base there is no sealant and the shower liner walls are loose from the backup wall. I do know the base has a lip that goes up the wall about an inch for the liner walls to lap over. In past experience with shower liners, I have seen where a foam tape is used at the bottom to hold the liner walls tight to the back. Not here. Could this be the issue? And if so, how could I now seal the liner tight to the backup?
thanks for any help in this

question re: allure traffic master

I have read all the posts I could find and went to Home Depot yesterday to look at the Allure Traffic Master vinyl flooring. I like it and plan on installing it in my MH, but still have a question.
I have a raised 11ft slide that, when open sticks in from the ext. wall about 4in. Luckily the carpet does not go all the way to the wall and I will be able to grab the ends to remove it from under the slide. When open, the rollers are off the carpet. When you retract the slide, the rollers come up and over the carpet so I won't have any issues w/ clearances or roller action.
My question (for those that have Allure in their rigs and have slides), since this is a floating floor system, is there any chance of the rollers pushing or moving the flooring? I plan on putting a wedged reducer to allow the rollers to "roll up" onto the allure surface.
thanks in advance

Palm Desert CA to Temecula CA

In 2 weeks we are going from Mesa AZ to Temecula CA. The route Google Maps suggests is from I-10 at Palm Desert CA to cut off onto CA-74 to CA-371 to CA-79 into Temecula. I see part is designated a scenic byway which sometimes means twists and curves and up and downs. We are a 38 ft Class A towing and have never been in the area.
Is this a good route for us?
Any other ways out there?
Thanks in advance

RE: loss of 12volt power

UPDATE: all fixed, thanks for your suggestions and help. It turned out to be the battery control switch must have accidently been turned off. Until it was suggested here that it might have gotten turned off did I think to check the obvious.
thanks

RE: loss of 12volt power

Originally there was only one 12 volt and 2 years ago I replaced that w/ 2- 6 volts. It was then that I installed the wizard and also a tube watering system to add water to the cells. (My batteries are in a location that is impossible to work on.) I also have put my mh specs in my profile and feel it redundent to then add that info again.
Would there possibly be a fuse in the battery compartment area or would it be at one of the fuse panels. Can I check voltage w/ a meter at the battery posts? Or where they all come together on a block?
For what it"s worth, I have a system monitor panel that has readings for fresh, grey and black water, LP gas and battery charge, and it is reading full charge. However none of the other readouts are very actual, except fresh seems to be ok.
When I turn off shore power, a alarm sounds as the co2 alarms shuts down.

loss of 12volt power

We have been parked for a month or so and today we unplugged from power and hit the road. I noticed that the ceiling fan that will usually run of off batteries was silent. I also noticed no refrigerator and the lites on the CO 2 monitor and battery on/off switch were out. When I turned on the generator all was fine. When we parked and plugged into power all was fine also. The battery system is 2-6volt, 2 years old, I fill with water monthly, the connections seem ok. I installed a "charge wizard" for use w/ my Intelii-power 9100 series converter and it too is blinking loike it is supposed to.
any thoughts?

RE: best west coast FL roads

Thanks for the suggestion to skip Clearwater/Tampa congestion and use the Suncoast Prkwy.
Is there any reason not to continue up I-75 to 98 (exit 301 ?) and skip the Parkway and the tolls?
thanks again

best west coast FL roads

We are currently in Ft Myers Beach FL and traveling to Crystal River FL on Sunday for a few days. Then heading west to Mexico Beach and then back onto I 10 west to AZ. I want to travel along the coast as much as possible and since this is the first time in this area I was wondering about routes 41, 19, US 275 and then 98 in FL. (We are a 38' MH towing a car)
thanks in advance for your suggestions

RE: Detroit MI to Ft Myers Beach FL

We usually are not in a hurry and try to stay off major Inter states. Also I've been told I-75 is crazy w/ trucks, bridges, construction, cities, and that I-77 is less hectic, less mountainous and is by far prettier route. This route comes from a current neighbor who drives his car to Naples, not a mh.
Now w/ all of your comments I need to think hard about I-75. I am a little concerned about weather turning bad at any point w/ a Dec departure.
thanks for your replies

Detroit MI to Ft Myers Beach FL

Leaving just after Thanksgiving and planning on US 23, I-80 east, I-77 south, to I 95 and jumping over to the west side of FL along I-10, and then I-75 into Ft Myers.
Is that a good route?
Suggestions on places to overnight?
I know most parks are closed so just a little concerned where to stay.
I know to check the weather.
thanks in advance

slide out issue

We own a 2006 Georgie Boy Landau and are having issues w/ the main slide mechanism. I have been told that the manufacturer REW has been sold to Alco and parts should still be available.
My issues are 1. the crank handle that is used to manually operate the slide just spins and 2.shear pins are breaking often. The repair facility wants to replace the gear box that the crank handle goes into but has been told that it is no longer available.
Anybody have contact numbers to Alco or a suggestion
thanks in advance
