RE: Problem with Georgie Boy LR Slide

vic
It didn't seem right for me to have to hold that button in order for the slides to work, but I did read some where that the motor is made to sense when there is a load (the slide has sealed itself) and then shuts down. That was from someone who was having the same problem and had asked Georgie Boy service people if there were kill switches that could be added to stop the motor before it loads up too much.

RE: Need some Blue Ox Patriot Brake System Help

For anyone who has had this problem I called Blue Ox and they told me that most likely the internal battery had a low or no charge. I have since plugged the unit into a lighter plug for 24hrs and that seem to do the trick. Everything is now working properly.

Problem with Georgie Boy LR Slide

I recently picked up a 2007 Georgie Boy Landau (Class a). The rig only has about 11,000 miles on it and in 2 months twice a pin has sheared in the living room slide. while searching the internet I am now finding that this has been a problem for others as well.
Is there any real fix for this?
Is there a service number that I can call?
Next question, when we were at the dealer and they gave us instruction on how to properly operate the slides we were told to hold the button marked "Manual Overide" then push the In/out button for that perticular slide. Is this the way its done? why am I holding a button marked "manual overide"?

Need some Blue Ox Patriot Brake System Help

I have a Patriot brake system that I purchased about two years ago. The last time I went to use it the unit powers up and goes thru the cycle but when it should say "ready" it shows me an error and states that the car battery is low. I have tried it now on a few different cars all having NO battery issues and the same thing keeps happening. Has anyone else experienced this? any help would be great, I don't like towing with out it.

RE: Thinking of crossing to the dark side

recently when I was looking to upgrade from a C to an A I had the same question do I go gas or diesel. These were the things I took into consideration, I am not a full timer and only do about 30-40 days of camping a year so though the diesel will last longer by the time I get to that high mileage the coach would be falling apart around the motor :) Diesel fuel is more expensive and the coaches I looked at weren't really getting better gas mileage then the gassers. And as someone already said the diesels are more expensive to maintain. My 1999 31ft Class C Gulfstream with the ford V10 pulled the mountains out west towing my 2004 Jeep Cherokee, I'm sure the diesel would have done it with ease but she still did her job. So when all was said and done I purchased a 2007 Class A with the V10 and we love it. Next coach wont be till we retire and thats when we would consider a diesel since we will be fulltimers.

RE: Diesel vs gas

Thanks everyone for your responses, we have decided to keep the Class C for now and do some of the upgrades but not all.

RE: Diesel vs gas

I think we are still going to plan to purchase new when we retire, but the new question will be do I put 15,000 into a 1999 Class C to make it work for the next 15 years or get something new or newer till retirement

Diesel vs gas

Now I searched this topic and seemed to come up more with people trying to decide on gas vs diesel in a tow vehicle but my issue is wether or not to get a diesel class a.
Here is where I am at now, I currently have a 99 Gulfstream Conquest Class C with 63,300 miles on it. We camp at least 30 days a year and plan to full time when we retire in about 15 years. I've looked into refreshing the class c but the total price tag is around 15,000 dollars and I just don't think it's worth it. So if I am going to go with a new Class A do I go diesel or gas and why?

Excellent thank you, do you know much about the Bounder? I'm looking at replacing my 1999 Gulfstream Conquest class C with a 2002 Bounder 39Z
