RE: Diesel Toad

We have a 2010 VW TDI Jetta Sportwagon with 6 speed manual trans. Great HWY mileage 48 mpg and about 36-ish combined city/Hwy. We tow it on a Kar Kaddy SS, which is ok per the manual. We love the car.

RE: I-86 - I - 88 eastbound thru New York

I just drove 88/86 two weeks ago (in a motorhome) and overall the roads are not so bad. There are some rough areas around Binghampton. The only really bad part of I86 is west of about Olean to about the PA border; it did have some pretty rough spots that will knock your teeth out!! I80 through PA was a better road, but there are not a lot of RV camping options close to the highway.

RE: If my wife sees this I'm a dead man...

I used it as justification to get a bigger RV...more stuff...more storage needed!

RE: Freightliner in Columbus, OH

That's kind of funny...I use Foster's now and have been happy with their work...I was just wondering if Freightliner was any good as a back up. Foster's can get busy. I had my MH in there for wheel alignment and to fix a lean and they had it for 10 days!! Everything is fixed right the first time, which is great. I guess I should just be happy with the work and never mind the time.
thanks.

RE: Anyone planning on downsizing?

How about a budget???? Decide on what you want to spend on gas and plan your trips accordingly.

Another Tag axle question

So, driving home from a week out and about in Ohio, some of the roads traveled were horrible; the pavement was so bad I thought things were going to break! I have a 40' Fleetwood on a Freightliner chassis. When the pavement gets really rough, I can feel it. I know a tag axle is much smother going down the road (I have driven one), but is it also much better on the rough roads too or is there just nothing that can tame the lousy roads when the going gets really tough?
Thanks
