Anaheim CA Rally, April 12-14, 2013

And away we go! Here is the post for next year. Keep the comments clean and come out fighting! Here are some photos for the Anaheim 2012 Rally thanks to Todd Lewandowski!
It will be April 12,13,14 2013 at Canyon RV in Anaheim. Two weekends after Easter this year. (March 31st)
We have 30 sites reserved (106-136), the full circle and a few more spots near the circle. Here is the Canyon RV Campground Map
Your Wagon master this year is myself, Adam Roof. Your wagon mistress is my wife Jennifer. I plan on asking many of you for help along the way, any help and pointers are greatly appreciated! Here are some photos for the Anaheim 2012 Rally thanks to Todd Lewandowski!
So far, a couple options new this year are Friday Night Bingo (weather permitting) and crafts and smores around the campfire for the kids Saturday evening. (hopefully Doug and Fran Wood can chip in some of their equipment!). We'll keep an eye on the weather and bring back the water gun fights too!

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

Hey everyone! Thanks for making us newbies feel welcome! It was great to meet many of you, and as next years "Wagon Mister", I hope to introduce myself formally to everyone next year.
I'll start next years post shortly, and we are already "reserved" for the entire loop and a few spots near Vince.
For those on Facebook, send me a friendvitation, Adam Roof from Camarillo, CA (not my doppleganger on the east coast, ya, theres two of my name somehow!). I created an RV.Net Camp Calendar group that i'll add you to. Then you can invite your friends list to the group as well. Its just a second place to have info, will be duplicate of whats on here, so no need if you dont have Facebook.
Thanks again for the honors!

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

We had a great time visiting with all our RV.NET Rally buddies. It's always a joy to show up somewhere, hang out with like minded friends, drink, eat ,drink and tell lies with each other. A great rally can not be ruined by weather...not when there are fantastic folks in attendance!!! We all had a great time which was only marred by a rear tire blow out on the way home(should've attended the tire seminar....KARMA!) Sign us up for next year.We thought that was you, sorry we didnt get into position to stop and help by the time we realized it. We were digging around to see if we could find your cell phone, glad it was just a tire and you got home safe. See ya at the Hot Springs!

RE: Quality under cabinet coffee maker

That is one cool mod C.B.!x2 (wow alot of responses while i was typing this, so make that x4? or is it x5 now?)
We picked up a Keurig single cup (no water resevoir beyond 10 ounces)
Keurig Money Reducer
It at least saves on space, and no carafe to protect, nothing to wash, no filters to dump out. We usualy have 3 to 4 cups total per day so a larger maker was a "waste" of coffee, but at $7 for 12 kcups, space and cleanup time have to be worth almost $2 per day to you.

RE: Where are all the young(er) TT/RV camping lovers?

Yay young people camping! We are 36 and 35 and 10, and notice the same. Why wait until "then" to camp when we can NOW!
We have thought it was the age groups focus in life.
The mid to late 20s are just getting settled after college figuring out the best clubs to get drunk at. Then late 20s to early 30s when the club scene calls them old people, they add a child into the mix, the wife becomes a stay at home mom, or reinforces her career after returning back from maternity leave, and/or has more children. By the mid to late 30s kids get older and start having after school sports and join programs that take up the weekend. All of those activities spill over into summer, reducing the time available, and dad still struggles to get more than 3 days off in a row due to upcoming promotions.
Theres also another generalization to figure out where they are. The mid 30s husband and wife are REALLY active families with 3 to 5 kids, but dad is really into dirt bikes, so they have the toy hauler that has the quads and cr125s and a 400 thumper for dad. They camp alot, but they are at Pismo beach or in the desert blazing the trails, not the national forests or nice scenic trips. You'll also see them triple towing their boats to the lakes or rivers.
We really like camping with the older generations however. A wealth of knowledge, a little lower key, so you can still sleep at night, nosy enough to help keep hooligans out of your site while were off on a day trip, friendly enough to share experiences and introduce new things to do in the area.
Its also nice not to have our age group heavy into camping because they would be filling up all the CGs from here to the Atlantic with their stupid superfast ONLINE reservation computing skills filling up 5 months worth of camping dates in the matter of a minute, removing any chance of an on the whim trip across country getting your reservation from a small booth up front when you get there. Oh wait, that happens now huh?

RE: Camper Title

Trusting buyer who will give you a cash equivalent and trust you to use it to pay off the loan.Yea, its not just protecting you, its protecting them if u dont use the cash to pay it off. Just try to think if Judge Judy would rule in your favor. Have signed documents and witnesses.

RE: Camper Title

Just sold TT about a month ago, fortunately it was financed at a local credit union, and they had the title at the branch. Buyer came with me, bank verified his cashier check from BofA (i thot those were PRE verified, but i guess not), paid off the loan, deposited remainder in my savings share, and then they came up front with the title and handed it to him.
We then went to AAA together and he had to pay the taxes on the sale and registration and they made sure we had all the right lines signed. Still took about 2 hours total to make it happen.
I was worried like you were about titling and buyer registration, but it went smooth. Since its out of state bank I dont think you have any option.
I sold a motorcycle with a Capital One lien, but i had to pay it off first with my own money to get the title on a promise he'd come back with cash, but it took about 5 days to get title mailed from Capital One after payoff.
If buyer is willing to wait, just get a bill of sale and signed agreements so you can at least go to court if needed. I found even the credit union wasnt helpful over the phone with information.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Thanks oldtrucker! That validates me a little! The one wire that's looped up to the bracket is a ground I ran a second wire out for, and the dangling wire still needs the pl259 connector that I'm learning how to crimp and solder. I tested the ground to the negative battery terminal for continuity?? and got 0.000 so my frame point I found under a kick panel was good. Hopefully. I haven't hooked up the radio yet, maybe this weekend I'll get it all together.

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

one to keep in mind Adam most lifts require a DP type frame. The lift weighs 3-400 lbs and then the motorcycle. Most C and gas A class have extensions to factory frame and won't support the weight. Along with that much weight that far behind the rear wheels overloads the rear axle.Wow I took a look at the frame and I now see what you mean by "extension". Literally an extension eh!!! I guess axle rating does no good if your frame is like that!
So I'm in the works on getting a trailer. That adds more room for stuff anyway. See you soon!

nothings "messed up", but thanks for your concern and information.
You are not seeing it in the correct angle, its not that obtrusive of an extrusion (lol fun to say). If it doesnt work out at this location, for width or signal reasons, I have white plugs at the ready.

RE: Added this year

Does it really matter how much you spend? As long as you have fun! Adding stuff is (for me) half the fun, i'm more scared of when I run out of things to buy!
I just ordered $160 today...
1 "Orbit 58248 Brass Garden Hose Y-Connector with Shut-Off Valves"
1 "Camco 22484 RV Water Bandit" (have 1 CG that this is needed for)
1 "Apex REM 15 15-Foot Connector Hose Remnants, Colors May Vary"
1 "Coghlan's Sierra Saw"
1 "Camco 40043 TastePURE RV Water Filter with Flexible Hose Protector"
2 "Camco 44573 RV Yellow Tri-Leveler"
1 "Reversible RV Patio Outdoor Mat Camping Rug with Carry Bag Brown & Beige 9' X 12' Garden Mat 119127"
... and about to add on 180 watts of solar for another $700
Northern Arizona Wind & Sun has some mounts for a couple bucks that I chose over the VHB, but I had to dicor (on previous TT) and held really nicely, but had to cringe when making the holes. Let us know how well you think the VHB will hold up, I might go that route on the new MH.

RE: FUN GROUP Pow Wow @ California Hot Springs May 25- 28, 2012

I hope for just about the same weather this year, but we should all pack snow shoes just in case! That area had some beautiful roads for the bike, so a little warmer wouldnt be a bad thing.
Leaving Friday, Saturday, Sunday, return Monday, will be so much more relaxing in the MH on the drive, but i'll still be towing the moto.
I still disagree with Ray that the frame and axles can't support it, even tho his data is accurate and he's right :B All i've read says its just better to tow a bigger bike like an ultra classic :( but i SO don't want to tow!

Tom, thanks for spending the time with that response, that makes sense!
12.8 was the disconnected "discharging" voltage, i like how you stated that.
