RE: The Class B makes a great Bug Out RV

Mike, the responses here and on your blog ("that boob...") show how few people have examined or are committed to their life-as-we-know-it ever being seriously interrupted for any reason. For most RVers in particular, I think the idea of a BOV equates to; "grab the credit cards and let's get on the Interstate and go somewhere the TV says is safe."
I've worked for years making my conversion van into a self-sustaining BOV/RV after my wife died and I no longer had need for motor homes or trailer. My conversion van sits in the car port as the only vehicle here in my wooded corner of the Arkansas' Ozarks. It has a 40-quart AC/DC refrigerator, plenty of storage plus a 4x6 foot trailer for longer times away. My Honda e2000i generator has a three-way carburetor for gasoline, propane and even natural gas. There's auxilliary heat. Microwave stove and propane two-burner. Food and supplies for at least 3 days. Three months in the trailer. And 180 watts of solar power to run the refrigerator 24/7.
That's my idea of an RV BOV.

RE: American vs English Goldens

I'm neighbor to a pair of Golden Retrievers. They live with a bright little blonde Cocker Spaniel who has both of them whipped into shape to accept her as the Alpha dog. Fun to watch her bully those 90-pound woofers.
Me? Cocker Spaniel rescue dog. Now just about two. She and the above-mentiond Cocker make up the local Ozarks turtle and chipmunk relocation association.

RE: Ambulance Conversion - Solar Panel vs Generator

I like the paint job. And you'll be street leagal in Arkansas unless you change the spelling on the sides to "Amalance."
