RE: Ticks!

Boy, we're lucky. Our cat is a "roamer" in/out and is a shelter cat. Had her almost two years and have yet to see the first flea/tick on her. Knock wood. We treat her faithfully with the flea/tick preventative we buy on line from Picard Meds. Did have to get her a rabies booster for the bat she caught. The second one we passed as it was a no go on the second. Apparently, they're not good to eat as she only did half of one. Due to get another rabies in 2013. If it climbs/swims/flies/walks etc, she'll catch it. Fish and frogs included.

Delamination/Soft Roof Corners

Got the estimation for repairing the delamination issues and the four corner soft roof problems and I must say .....WOW!!! Total came to $6400 including the decals on the right side. Way to go Monaco!! No wonder they went belly up with products like these. I used to brag about how good it was and now, it's ther typical overpriced junk. I'd even sealed the roof seams close to five years ago to prevent this with Eterna-bond tape. Awaiting a decision from the adjuster from my insurance company. Had some really bad storms (high winds/'frog drowning rains) so may be covered. Hope so. We'll be hoping at least. This outfit seems to be "snake bit" when it comes to problems albeit minor with the tow vehicle, just agravating. TT is a Savoy LX, 2006 30footer.

RE: How do you disassemble couch?

If other than a jack knife, there should be locks/latches on either end on the back under the cover, holding the back to the bottom. OR the back may just slide down into some grooves on either end. My Springsteel sofa came apart that way along with the replacement double reclining wall hugger love seat I replaced it with.

RE: Memorial day

Staying home as our TT is in the shop getting our delamination issue and soft roof corners repaired. Only five weeks to go on it as per the estimation timewise.

RE: Dmax maintenance interval question

I would suggest that you sit down and spend some time reading your Owners Manual. The engineers that designed your vehicle know a lot more than just us average yardbirds. JMHO I just use my DIC. Works for me.

RE: Cleaning Black Tank

Should be an inlet near your city water hookup that says "Tank Flush". I usually put about 15 gallons or so or five minutes worth after draining and drain again while rinsing with the water. I Use a "Y" fitting and turn off my city water valve and turn on the "Flush" valve. This takes care of it for me. At the end, I run about three minutes of water into the tank to keep "things" wet while parked. Last,I shut the flush valve off and return to City Water. JMHO

RE: 77 Chev Class C into Toy Hauler

I started out with a 1976 26Ft Class C Winnebago with a turbo 400 and 350 engine. Terribly underpowered and wouldn't get out of it's own way and THIRSTY! 5-6 mpg. Yanked the 350 and dropped in a 454 roller cammer and went to 11-13mpg and was strong as a bear. EZ to do with the front end taken off and everything right out in the open. Good luck with your conversion.

RE: Best Pulled Pork or Chicken Recipes

I take about a two lb Boston Butt and trim off the excess fat. Dry it with paper towels. Rub a good (your favorite) pork rub into it and let it set until room temperature. Then place it in a slow cooker for abour 4-5 hours on high. After about 4-5 hours, remove to a cutting board and pull with two table forks until its shredded. Then take a sharp knife and chop up the shredded pork to make it shorter and return to the cooker.Take some Sweet Baby Rays Bar-B-Q sauce (your favorite) and pour it all over the pork simmer for an hour and ENJOY!!!. It will make your tongue want to "slap yo mama!!JMHO

RE: Update: Cooltech won't work with dealer towing package

There is some sort of an electrical adapter you have to use I'd imagine in order fror the lights to work. I had the same problem hooing up the camper lights I pulled with my GL1500 Goldwing. Seems the circuits are Asian and different from USA types. Parts house should have the adapter needed. JMHO

RE: changing a bulb

Looks as if you can pop the metal ring off with a flat putty knife and the globe would come with it thereby exposing the light holder. Maybe? JMHO

RE: Million Mile Chevy Duramax LBZ

Finally got the Service Engine Soon light and Low Quality Diesel Exhaust Fluid light to stay out and got the shifter cables replaced and now I have no 4X4 on my 2011 HD2500 6.6. Feels as if either the cable has become unhooked or broken as there is absolutely NO feel to the shifter. Wonder what's next?

Delamination Repair

Not really maintenence perse' but dropped my TT off yesterday afternoon finally to get the delamination issues estimated for my insurance company who, thankfully, is going to pick up the bill. DW had been sick, so we're a week late in dropping it off and wouldn't you know it, the person who does the estimating took the afternoon off. Said he was always there and no appointment needed. I did so and left it as it's about 50 miles each way. I intend to go back probably Monday to find out all the particulars and to make sure he knows what to do. Just saying is all with what things are today with some people and never having used them before. They did have quite a few high end motorhomes being repaired and even saw a helicopter being towed into the shop.

RE: Hartford (AARP) insurance

I changed from Liberty Mutual (treated well and promptly), and saved almost $400 per on our Truck and TT. I have a Florida policy as we do both places. Had some horrendous winds come thru here (NC) in Feb/Mar and rain causing a water leak around our window in the TT in turn causing some delamination. Insurance is covering it whenever I can get it over the mountain to the body shop.

RE: Anyone running BFG A/T, KO

I'm running the 17" size on my HD2500 2011 6.6. No idea how many miles as they were on there when I bought the truck with 40K. Have 46K now. Seem to be weraring OK, but are some somewhat noisey seems. They pull good in snow in 2X2 or 4X4. Rain OK also. JMHO

RE: 2008 holiday rambler savoy lx

This is our second unit. Our first was a 29ft Savoy SL that was pure junk!!. Seemed the walls were never fastened properly to the roof and leaked like a seive when it rained up and down both sides. Ir-repairable deemed by Monaco who at that time did stand behind it to some degree.

RE: 2008 holiday rambler savoy lx

Make sure your roof seams are sealed. I have a 2006 30CKLX single slide and had some rain leak past my window seal due to high winds causing some delamination on right front side and over the entry door. Fortunately, my insurance is going to cover it. As soon as it stops raining here , I'll haul it over the mountain to the shop, Had sealed the roof previously with Eterna-bond that works great. Just the two of us and we love the floor plan with the huge rear bath/shower/closet unit. Replaced the sofa with a dual reclining wall hugger love seat.

RE: Seal off fresh water line to toilet

I plugged off my outside shower by just cutting the lever off, plugging with an appropiate sized bolt and two hose clamps. Worked out fine for me JMHO.
