Battery hold down

Hi - DW and I just purchased a 2007 Lance 805 for weekend trips to the lake so we can also pull our boat without taking our 31 foot KZ Spree. The Lance came without a battery, inside the battery box there are two little style eye hooks, is this where you tie down the battery? I dont know what holds the battery down. If these two little type eye hooks are what holds it from moving what type of strap do I need and where do I buy one at? Thanks

RE: Exhaust Brake On While Not Towing?

My EB is factory and must be turned on everytime I start the vehicle. Is there a way to make it just turn on when the vehicle starts without ME pushing the button everytime? And why is it NOT a good idea to let these vehicles coast down hill?

RE: 1996 LANCE LANCE CAMPER 185

This is one of the smallest sizes made by Lance and designed to be used even on a 1/2 ton truck. There are campers that are designed for easy setup to tow a boat and some have a side entrance which is a plus. Worth taking the time to do some research and you may be able to avoid having to take two trucks. No reason why a truck cannot handle the 250 lb. load of hitch and 2500 lbs. of camper and gear (and you can put some stuff in the boat). and easily handle towing 6,000 lbs. of boat and trailer, especially with low gearing or a diesel engine. There will be times I will want to tow my TT with the TC on the back also. Can you do this with TC that over hang?

Exhaust Brake On While Not Towing?

My 2008 Dodge 2500 under light accell. 5% maybe has a hiccup from the torque converter locking up (so I've been told) If I run with my exhaust brake on it doesnt seem to do this. Is there a issue or am I harming my truck running the exhaust brake while not towing?

RE: 1996 LANCE LANCE CAMPER 185

We already own a 31 foot KZ TT and will keep it. However, when we go to the lake with our boat we need to take our Denali to pull the boat and the Diesel to pull the camper. Thats a lot of pulling by a lot of vehicles just for weekend trips to the lake. If we buy a TC I can leave our BIG camper at home and our other vehicle. This will save much time and money.

1996 LANCE LANCE CAMPER 185

I'm looking at maybe purchasing one of these. I've never owned a truck camper before, do they run off a seperate battery or the vehicles batteries? Is there room somewhere still in the bed to carry my generator? If not where does everyone carry their generators? Anything good to know or advise on truck style campers? Thanks,

RE: KZ Spree advise

Why would KZ pay for something that was covered by your insurance company? If your insurance paid then I'm to assume you caused the damage to it and it was not a warranty issue? I have had two KZ camper now and both of them have been great and the one I own now is a 289KS.

RE: I just bought a new 2011 TT for ½ price

Rev... I wish you the very best of luck that you will be able to make the necessary repairs and have many happy years and miles of ownership. It is easy to tell how excited you are. I must confess my reaction to reading your original post: ...The sales guy told me it’s a easy fix... chest pain ...the sales guy told me everything works... palpitations ...he said a lot of people calling on it... shortness of breath ...The salesman seems honest and said they rarely get clean ones like this one... uncontrolled eye twitch Truly, I hope it all works out for you. Thats what I was thinking I was thinking the OP was typing this as a joke .... Maybe not :h

RE: One killed, one hurt in rollover along Interstate 90

It is a sad day when people are killed in car accidents. I've had times that the TT has whipped around after a semi has passed (well maybe not whipped) me, I know what it feels like. However, I have never been traveling so fast that I could not slow down to make sure I'm under control. I wonder how fast they were driving? How much wind was there this day? Were they drinking? So many questions ..... One thing is for sure though .... They lost control and one person died....

RE: NEW 6.7 LITER DODGE DIESEL TRUCKS

I have the less powerful 5.9L engine (325hp/610tq, new ones are 350hp/800tq) and I pull a 36.5 foot 5er with mine with no issues. You fail at reading comprehension...The OP did not ask about your 5.9. To the OP, I would go here for feedback on the 6.7. The latest generation Cummins has it's share of problems. Well in a way he did answer the question ...... He pointed out that he has the less powerful 5.9L but yet pulls the size camper the OP was asking about.

RE: Calling all newer Dodge Diesel owners

I'm so confused now :? I'm guessing from the majority it's not necessary or recommended to clean them. I was told they are VERY expensive to replace if they go bad.

Calling all newer Dodge Diesel owners

Are any of you running diesel fuel injector cleaners through your fuel system as maintenance? If so what are you using?

RE: Electric hitch? Worth it? If so, which brand?

Tongue jack---well worth it. Power drill for stabilizers---well worth it. It seems that the hotter it is outside and the older I get, the more I appreciate POWER tools! X 2
