RE: Leaky Windshield

I repaired windshield leaks in both of the Journeys I have owned with a 3M product "Window Weld-super fast urethane". Product # 08609. I got it at NAPA.
The first one on my 2000 was meant to be a temporary repair as there was evidence of rust on the window frame but three years after I did it it remained leak free.
The rubber trim pieces around the Windshied look like they hold moisture in and cause the rust.
You might give this product a shot - it worked for me.

RE: Residential fridges and remote camping???

Scott
It’s very disconcerting to get a letter from Norcold stating “Failure to follow these instructions can result in a fire causing property damage, injury or death” .
Essentially don’t use your motorhome until the repair facility has received the update parts (one at a time).
We have used our Norcold for two years In our current coach with no problem but whenever we leave our dogs in the coach we turn it off. We park it next to our home when not in use and turn it off. It’s a PIA. We are scheduled for the “latest” upgrade. Even after this latest upgrade I willhave zero confidence in Norcold.
It seems to me that the proper repair is to replace the cooling unit but people say that would bankrupt them (if they don’t have enough product liability insurance). Perhaps they should be out of the business.
I would love to have a house type reefer as we don’t boondock very much anymore and I’m seriously considering it.
Sorry for the rant, but they have taken a wonderful pastime and added a new worry – will my coach burn down and perhaps injure someone? I think there would be great peace of mind with stick & bricks reefer and I could deal with the power issues.

RE: TST Tire Pressure problems

My new 507 system came with a bunch of extra seals that Dennis mentioned.

RE: Finally have my Cotek inverter installed in my ACE

On my recent electronics system update I used Industrial Strength Velcro. Gives some shock protection, holds fast & is removable. Works for me.

RE: TST Tire Pressure problems

I recently installed the new 507 TST system on my Journey with Accuride wheels. After scratching the heck out of the first one I removed the theft deterrent devices. I had to slightly bend the front valve stems to center in the opening - no big deal. I also had to rotate the outside dual valve stems 90 degrees - again no big deal. I did have two bad senders out of 10 and had to send them back. They reported than one was ok and one was indeed bad.
After an initial slight disappointment I really like the system. Incidentally, my toad is parked about 75 ft away and still reads the tire pressures!

RE: Winegard SK3005 powering off while camping

Thanks All!
It wasn't quite as complicated as I had imagined. It still amazes me that this thing just finds the sats and locks on. After dealing with the AS2003 for years it is a real pleasure!

Winegard SK3005 powering off while camping

I just installed a Winegard SK3005 sat dish. After it locks on to the satellites the control box is still on & drawing power. The operation manual references an “Emergency Power Off” feature by pressing Power & Select at the same time. If you are parked at a campground for several days then repower the unit it goes through the search routine before the unit can be stowed. Any way around this?
Also are all of the coax connections watertight (I used the coax supplied by Winegard with one F connector on one end) or should I wrap some kind of protective tape around them?
The installation & operation manuals are not clear.
I have not contacted Winegard Tech Support yet. I thought there were plenty of people on this board that would have similar questions.
Thanks

RE: Replacing Winnebago TV/Surround sound issue

Thanks for the info guys! I think the N-22v might be a good temporary solution until I get a new surround sound system. I just can't get past the idea of soldering wires to my new tv.

Replacing Winnebago TV/Surround sound issue

I am going to replace my 26” Sony CRT tv in my ’05 Winnebago Journey. The tv I bought does not have variable audio out. Winnie soldered wires onto the speakers to run to the amplifier for the “surround sound system”. I don’t want to disassemble my new tv to solder onto the speakers as I also want to use this tv at home in my office.
There are two audio outs – one optical and one analog.
Do I have any options other than a new surround sound system or a sound bar. The Winnie system is adequate for my old ears if I can somehow make it work.
(New tv is Samsung UN32D6500)
Thanks for any advice you fellas could offer.

RE: Install Roadmaster light kit in 2000 CRV

I faced the same problem on my 2000 CRV and opted for the diode kit. It has worked well ever since.
Good Luck and let us know how you made out.

RE: The Case for Lower Tire Pressure

Garym114 has it exactly correct! The tire manufacturer knows the correct pressures for optimum performance. I have stated before on this forum, some years ago I took someone's advice and inflated to maximum pressures and it made the motorhome almost undriveable. At the manufactures reccomended pressure - smooth as glass.

RE: MPG on a pusher

I have averaged 7.76 over 8,000 miles. Low of 6.9 and highest of 8.7 (flats of Arizona & Nevada). I live in the Pacific Northwest and usually driving in the mountains. Always towing a 2000 CRV.
Winnebago Journey, Cat C7 350 HP usually about 60 MPH.
