RE: Coach Batteries

I live in Denver and the Costco's in Colorado don't sell the 6 volt battery. I called their HQ in Seattle and they are shipping 4 to my local Costco. Try them. The battery is #245725 and is about the same dimensions & post configuration as the Interstate U2200 I am replacing. Costco HQ phone #425-313-8100.

RE: Used Fleetwood Discovery

I think you need to look at a Motorhome w/ @ least one slide. Easier to resell if you ever want to move up. We have 2 slides and wish we had 4. I just bought 6 new Michelins, cost 3700. Don't know where you can get tires for 2500!! Negotiate all you can. Prices are low everywhere you look for used MH's.

RE: Shifting The Allison Manually In The Mountains

Manual shifting is a must in the Rockies which is where we live. Keeps the temp below 200 and everything running good.

RE: Table and chairs

I sat in both before buying and prefer table and chairs. More flexible. I think it's a personal decision of likes and dislikes like everything else in life. Isn't it great that we have so many choices!!!!!

RE: The 96 Monaco Exec I want to buy has Aged Out Tires...

It never hurts to have a discussion about the tires since they are such an expensive item. Then both parties can either back out of the buy/sell if an agreement can't be made. "Never hurts to ask"!!!!

RE: Shurflo Water Pump Fix or Replace?

I think you should buy a new pump. I found a new one on EBAY for about 35.00. Look around.

RE: Carpet or laminate flooring for Class A

I think if you use anything other than carpet you would eliminate people from colder climates for resale of the MH. Why do you think MFGR's use carpet in the living areas!!!! Not sure if dying will work on your carpets. You should test an area first to see if it will take. I have tried dying many things in the past since I owned & operated Dry Cleaners for many years.

RE: Newbie here

I have found the best insurance rates are thru companies that specialize in RV's. I carry most tools necessary for small repairs. Light bulbs need changing, have replaced a vent motor fan, replaced a toilet water valve. You never know what might go wrong and it is usually inconvenient to move the MH to a dealer for simple repairs.

RE: Carry fuel?

We always fuel up after 450 to 550 mi. Always plan where the next fuel stop will be. Don't want to carry extra fuel for obvious reasons.

Not sure where yours is, but mine is at the top of the back of engine and had to access it from the bedroom side to change it out. Cummins isl 8.3 engine. After changed had to pay cummins to re-compute the unit to make it work.
