RE: Can you bear to part with your "man toys"?

Gave stuff to my son. He is doing his own collecting so I don't have to get anymore stuff. And since we only live 5 miles away......:B But he does use my ATV for fishing up in Canada and during deer hunting. I get to use it the rest of the time.

RE: Shopping failures...

I try to buy locally, but it's got to the point that I've just about given up on everything but the basics. It's either twice the price I can get on-line, or it will take 3X as long to get it. Yes, regretfully this has been true, especially during the current financial mess.

RE: Hobbies...

Model railroading (HO), fishing, camping, and ATV trail riding. Plus I read a lot on my Kindle. I would ride my bike but had to give that up because of medical problems (IPF) with my lungs. Luckily I have been a "lab rat" for the past 6 years for a drug for the lungs (it works pretty good).

RE: Pens...fountain and otherwise.

Have used Cross ball points (fine point) for many years. Also used their .5mm pencils. Have worked good for me.

RE: composite decking

Trex at least will fade some. It still beats the maintenance require on a wood deck. You can also stain it if it fades too much. Clicky We also have Trex. Slight fading where the sun hits it during the summer. Have been happy with it so far (7 years old).

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Getting the MH ready for a trip to southern Minnesota for a HRRVC state rally. We leave on Wednesday late stopping at the Hinckley Casino for a dry camping overnight in one of the parking lots. Be a good test of the generator. Weather looks to be great (finally) for the long weekend.

RE: To plug in or not? Your thoughts?

Our motor home is plugged in all the time it is not on the road. Within one year after buying new I was able to buy a "Charge Wizard" for $30. First set of house batteries (4 6v) lasted 10 years. Hope this set will go as long.

RE: Carroll Shelby Cobra creator passes.

An absolute car guy and tuning/car building genius....R.I.P. Yup, was working the Sports Car Club of America races when the 289 Cobra first came out. Wished I had the money to buy one at the time. Had to keep my Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII.....:R

RE: Securing Genturi to side of coach - How did you do it?

Our Gen-Turi was installed 6 years ago. I just riveted the brackets to the side of the coach. Haven't had any problem.

RE: Some Numbers to share with you

Today's job climate is different from a few years ago. Especially if you have to stay in the area due to other reasons like wife's excellent job (been there, done that) and benefits. I was a house husband for several years in the 90's.

RE: Montana - Huckleberry Hounded

They are 'related' to blueberries but are usually smaller in size. The plants grow very well in the high ranges of Montana so they are plentiful but you need a bunch of them for pies, jams etc. Yup, also ice cream and pop (soda). Gotta get them before the bears..:B Born in Kalispell and lived in Eureka for a time. Grand parents and parents lived in Eureka.

RE: Test Test Test

If you are using the RV.Net portal to the Open Roads Forum, I suggest that you try the Woodall's portal. Tom Yup! RV.net has been having problems for a while. Using Woodall's as an alternate.

RE: Getting closer!

We managed to make it out this past weekend. Cool temps in the 50's all weekend. Saturday night we had a rain storm with thunder, lightning, and times of heavy rain. Luckily the rain stopped before daybreak. Next time out is May 17 for a long weekend with fellow HRRVC Minnesota members.

RE: Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Gasoline prices continue to drift down. Filled up the motor home at Sam's Club for $3.61. Diesel continues to be 50ยข a gallon higher than gasoline.

RE: Can Cats and View co-exist?

We use the shower for the litter box. I found a rubber bathtub plug that fit just right so any cat litter won't go down the drain. During the day the cats usually reside under the couch. When we stop the shower and bath door are propped open for their convenience.
