Unless you have multiple leaks, your latest post suggests that you have neither a leaky tank nor drain valves that aren’t sufficiently closed. I’d concentrate my efforts on a search for a leak in a plumbing line, beginning my search around the pump. Is the pump under the bed or nearby?

As others have said, I think the rust problem depends mostly on where you live and drive the vehicle. Six years ago we transferred my wife’s 1994 Acura to my son. At that time, having lived all its life in California, it was free of any rust. Now, after six years in Buffalo and Chicago, the body is falling apart though the drivetrain remains strong.

Ron: Off topic, but if you want to reduce your bill for electricity, install a rooftop solar system! My 4K system generates more power than I use over the course of a year; means that all I pay is the monthly $12 meter fee - and that's with electric cooktop, electric ovens, a hot tub, and an infra red sauna. Of course, the system won't pay for itself in my lifetime, but for me it's the principle of the thing.

I am the third owner of a former rental, a 2004 25’ Winnebago Chalet that had 70,000 miles on it. I believe the Chalet was made for the rental market. However, mine has features that, as I understand it, many rentals do not. E.g., awning, generator, roof ladder, electric steps, wheel simulators, 2 house batteries, class III hitch. Unfortunately, it did NOT come with any service records.
Other than some handling issues that I alleviated by installing Bilsteins, I have had no problems with the unit except for a small leak that developed around the front over-cab window.

Redcatcher70: When I first started seriously thinking about a Mustang a week ago I decided that, of the available colors, I wanted one of the reds. However, what I got is Sterling Gray Metallic. It is understated and fits my personality; I like it a lot.

I just bought a new car
After 12+ years with my Camry – which has been a great car BTW – I decided that at the age of 70 it was time to get something impractical for a change. So, I’m now the proud owner of a 2013 Mustang. I opted for the V6, which has plenty of power for my needs. Would have liked a V8 for that great sound but (here I am being practical again!) couldn’t justify the extra thousands for it. I may invest in a Flowmaster exhaust kit though ….

Amen to that! But for this factor, however, and in situations where I am not interested in the scenery, I would often prefer to drive at night. Mainly since there is less traffic.

I agree with you, up to a point (just as I think that sales tax should be collected on Internet purchases, to level the playing field). But how do you separate the Ebay professional sellers, who should be reporting their income, from the incidental sellers, who don’t need to? E.g., if I sell my RV, I don’t have to report the proceeds as income.

I think I will just beg the sellers to let me borrow their plates for the drive back, and promise to mail them back to them once I get there. ...
I would check with the current owner in advance about "borrowing" his plates for the trip home. Personally, if I were the owner I wouldn't do it, due to potential liability issues.
Since NC apparently offers a cheap temp plate, that's the route I would go.
I'd also check tire dates and, if they are old, replace them before making the trip home. I didn't with my first (used) RV and blew both right rears on the 50-mile trip home.

I use a Braun 1-cup pressure-type espresso machine. Just put a scoop of freshly and finely ground coffee in the strainer cup, dump a mug of cold water in the top and place the mug under the strainer, turn it on, and have a great cup of coffee in about 1 minute. It came with a glass carafe, but that soon broke, and a mug works just as well.

It may be my imagination, but it seems that since I switched to glasses with an anti-reflective coating some years ago the glasses attract more “stuff” – and more quickly – than before.
BTW: I’m a big fan of the coating. Before I had it I wore sunglasses much of the time while outside. Now I rarely feel the need to use them. I do wear a baseball cap most the time, however.

Apropos of what j-d posted, when I was in the processing of buying my 2004 class C from a Ford dealer’s lot several years ago I noticed the valve stem inaccessability problem for the dualies right away. I strolled around the lot and saw the same thing with virtually every other RV that was there. Brought the problem to the salesman’s attention, and he claimed that it had never occurred to him. :?
I had them put on a set of those flexible extenders; they were all I knew about at the time. Later, based on what I learned on RV.net (which I discovered after buying the RV), I had a solid-stem Borg kit installed.

... The gauge is actually an on/off device, like the idiot light bulb. It does not read oil pressure.
So, what you are saying is that the "gauge" is nothing more than a fancy idiot light? If so, that disappoints me; I thought I had a real gauge on my V-10. :M Is that also true for the temp gauge which, from what I've read elsewhere, only rises from the "normal" reading when you have a serious temp problem?

If PPL posts the sale price of consigned RVs they sell it is not clear to me how you get that info from their website. All I see is asking prices for unsold vehicles, including any reduction from original asking price.
