RE: Uniguard or Alumaguard awning covers?

I've got the weathershield that wraps around my dometic window awnings if thats what you mean. It makes for an attractive awning when closed. I don't know yet if it helps with weather or fading, as the rig sits in a garage when not in use so it gets very little exposure.

RE: 2012 Montana 3700Rl Big Sky

Looks like a nice unit - the DW liked the side aisle with the side by side WD when she saw on at the show.

RE: new fifth wheel purchase

Get a gross weight at the CAT scales and do the math on your truck. Empty weight is a pretty useless number once you put cargo or water on board.

RE: new fifth wheel purchase

Welcome to the Forum and to life with a 5th wheel!

RE: 5th Wheel Storage

It would be wierd staying in a trailer in a garage. For me, maybe just roof to keep the elements off but open sides so you can see natural light out the window.

RE: TV.Antenna

Ya - we went through a ferocious wind and it laid back one of the wings. I never use it, but replaced the part anyway. Just one of those things that would have bugged me for life.

Enjoy that new rig!

RE: Good Price on Used 5th AirBorne Pin Box?

Looks like it has been double drilled to make it fit, and the holes overlap. That would make it junk to me.

RE: Full hookup at home

Very nice - I used to a similar setup, but sold the house for another. I miss it.

RE: New Montana 3402

Give it up Arizona - you're ruining a happy thread! I know you're trying to make a point, but point it out on your own thread. Let us Montana owners enjoy our Montanas without your rhetoric? cKarlGo - Congratulations on that new Montana! It's cool how the walkthrough bathroom has come back. That makes three bathroom floorplans available that should open up a little more of the market. Bathrooms are important and it seems the preferences by the consumer are very diverse.

RE: Aftermarket 50A cord reel info

Dunno about a cord reel but I use a clothes basket to coil the cord up in. Fairly easy to carry and store, and easy to coil the cord into also. Seems like a 50 amp cord reel would take up quite a bit of space. At first I thought about that too (cord reel taking up space), but it could not be any more than the clothes basket. I think its about the same.

RE: Montana 5th wheels

A longer factory warranty is much more valuable than an extended warranty A two year or longer factory warranty is an indication of how proud the manufacturer is of their manufacturing quality. Anything less than a two year warranty should rule out any RV manufacturer for full time usage. IMOThink what you want, but I wouldn't say it is pride. It's just marketing to get the edge over the other manufacturers. If you look at the auto history, it was the underdog that was the first to jump on the market with the longer warranty (Mopar). As I remember just before Yugo died they had the best warranty out there - I don't remember pride being part of that equation, it was more desparation. Not saying any of this holds true to those RVs that market a 2-year warranty, but just don't assume it's confidence in the product.

The answer is always "YES". :B :B :B But he needs all you guys to help him convince the wife!:B Ah - the root motive for most!

RE: Do I need a bigger Truck

You're overloaded now I imagine - at least in TV payload. That Montana had the second heaviest pin weight of the 2003 fleet.

RE: Spring Hanger question

Yes you can use one or both holes for desired hight. While you have the bolts out replace the plastic bushings with wet bolts and bronze bushings. They are not expensive.X2

RE: Do I need slider or not?

Try without first. I doubt you will need one for that rig, because the pin box is extended out pretty far. If you get a Reese and find you need one, you can add it later.

RE: Backup Camera

Are you aware of how wireless systems work? If not, here is the deal. A wireless unit is wireless only from the truck to the camera transmitter which can be installed anywhere on the trailer. So if you put the transmitter in the proper location it will work flawlessly. If you get lazy and do a poor install you get bad coverage. Apparently the people you reference are in the second group. Mine works well BTW. I hope this is helpful. That's how your's works - but it looks like flifisher's works different.

RE: Question! 6 - 8lug 16" wheels

Lots of this don't make sense to me. Your tire dealer sold you G614 tires not knowing your wheel rating? Second thing is a 7k axle with six lugs? There is a reason you can't find 110 PSI wheels in a six lug pattern. How much weight is on your axles? Many G614 owners don't run full pressure if it's not needed. At any rate if your current wheels aren't rated to 110 PSI, don't put that much in as they will seperate. Usually stamped on the back side.X2 - something is not right and I think it is your axles are not 7K. I got sold some G tires on the road after shredding my 4 factory tires on our 2003 with 6 lug. I never found any wheels that would take the 110psi. There just ain't no such thing. I had to settle for 80 psi
