RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

I will call Monaco for a new switch and solve that problem! Again all, thanks a million for coming to my rescue! We will be able to hit the road tomorrow morning!NO NO, don't pay the Monaco price for anything, except as a last choice. First try Northwest RV supply and if they don't have it, then go to the Monacoers forum and check who the supplier for the switch is and go direct. Thanks Bob! I'll try that! :B

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

I just found the problem with the bedroom slide also. If I press hard on the rocker switch in the "Out" position it will not work. I can release just a little pressure off the switch and it works every time. The other side of the switch, the "IN" side, works! fine. I will call Monaco for a new switch and solve that problem! Again all, thanks a million for coming to my rescue! We will be able to hit the road tommorrow morning! :B:B

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

IT'S WORKING! Rex, your suggestion led me to corroded contacts on one of the bay door switches. I had checked the switch earlier just by holding it in with my fingers to be sure the door was pushing in enough to activate it. Thanks so much to all of you for trying to help me solve this problem! Hope I can return the favor sometime! :B

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

Well, it looks like I have had us chasing rabbits. The slides are definitely electric, NOT hydraulic. I've checked everything I know to check, just sitting here scratching my head! :h

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

The problem is getting worse! Now the bedroom slide won't go out. I can hear it trying when I press the switch and it moves just a bit, but won't go on out. When I press the retract side of the switch it moves instantly all the way back in. We have a Beaver (made by Monaco) and 3 of our slides are Hyd .... if your situation is getting worse .... you may be low on Hyd fluid. Our accumulator is underneath near our step out. Check the dip stick ... don't know if you have one. Or remove the fill cap and see if you can touch liquid. When I slide the generator out there is something maybe 4-5 inchs in diameter and about 12-14 inches long with two hydraulic hoses connecting to it. There is what appears to be a screw-on vent on top. When i unscrew it there is no dipstick. I've looked all around the front behind the generator and can't see a hydraulic pump.

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

"slide inter-locks" The electrical circuit has "switches" that must be closed for the circuit to be complete. These switches are called inter-locks they may be on the bay doors etc. They are there to insure that the slide is not activated when it shouldn't be. Press one of the switches for the slide and listen/feel the relays on the slide-out control board in the rear electrical compartment. If they activate then the problems is forward (pump if hydraulic) of that. If they do not activeate then it is in the switch circuit. Steve OK, I didn't realize you were referring to the switches on the bay doors. I still keep coming back to them as a possible problem, but I don't think they would keep the bedroom slide from working (see my last post}, would they?

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

Try turning the main batt switch off/on ... coach & chassis. Maybe a relay needs to re-set. Are you on or off shore power? You've tried re-setting the breakers? Your ignition is off? I turned both main battery switches off for 10 seconds. We are on shore power now. Ignition is off. Have reset all breakers.

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

As many posts are suggesting, pull out your coach owners manual and go through each of the slide "inter-locks". Suspect one of them is not "proper". I'm not sure what you mean. What are slid "inter-locks" ?

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

MSHappyCampers.... I had this happen and finally got it fixed. The computer board connectors apparently where not making good contact. So the repair facility put new ends on and it worked. Are you saying your rear slide is hydraulic too? We have four slides, 3 hydraulic and 1 electric. The slide the bed is on is electric. Also, on yours, near or at the hydraulic pump you might have two fuses. Our manual said that ours did but I couldn't find them. I called Monaco and they said ours did not (but the manual says we do)... go figure! An '02 might have those fuses at the pump so check those. Good luck! MM. I'm not sure if all three slides are hydraulic. Where is the hydraulic pump you mentioned?

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

I am assuming that all of the other slideouts on your motorhome are working properly. Your problem could be something as simple as a bad switch for that particular slideout, or it could be a bad slideout control box (the electronic brain). The rear bedroom slide works, the two front slides do not. Since two of the three do not work, it's unlikely that two switches would go bad at the same time.

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

Found the slide-out control board in the rear electrical compartment. Unplugged and replugged the three relays. Checked the two fuses on the board. checked the 12VDC to the board. Moved the driver's seat all the way forward. Still nothing! :h

RE: HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

Can't hear any sound when pressing the switch to retract the slides. Since both the front slides are not working, I would think it's a power issue, but as I said, I have checked everything I can find. I made sure the air pressure was all the way up, checked the connections on the bay door switches, etc.

HELP! EMERGENCY! NEED HELP NOW!

Got up this morning getting ready to leave the campground and the two front slides won't go in! I've checked everything I know but still no luck. My first thought was that one of the outside storage doors was not closed, but checked all of them. I can't find a fuse or breaker that says it is for the slides, but I checked ALL of them with a meter. Any ideas on this?

RE: Alternate routes on the RM7710?

I have an old TomTom that I can ask it to select an alternate route if I don't like the one it has picked. I would have assumed that any more advanced GPS would have that feature. Go figure! :S

Alternate routes on the RM7710?

I just got a Magellan RV9165T-LM and one of the things it won't do is let me select an alternate route to my destination. This is very annoying and I was wondering if the RM7710 has that feature?

This gal don't talk right!

I just bought a Magellan RV9165T-LM GPS and so far really like it except for one thing. The gal that they put inside that thing runs her words together, putting the pauses in the wrong place. Sometimes it is very difficult to understand the directions. Have any of you experienced this? I wondered if this is a problem on the RM7710? Thanks for your comments!

RE: This MH is cooking my goose!

Another question comes to mind here. If you run the generator all the time while traveling you're gonna run up a lot of hours on it. I think my book says to service the generator every 100 hours. Do you adhere to that or let it go longer? :@

RE: This MH is cooking my goose!

Thanks folks! You've confirmed what I already suspected, that most folks run their gensets and house A/C when traveling. You can bet we'll be doing that from now on! :B
