Refrigerator

I am thinking about repalcing my 4 door Norcold with a home refer as when I get in 90 degree weather it does not work very well. One of my concerns is that perhapts the home refer will not stand up to all the jaring that goes on in a motor home when going down our wounderful roads. Has any one did this conversion? Any problems? Also how are the refers holding up that were installed at the factory as many makers are now putting them in?

CA Highway 80 from Sacramento to Reno

Last year I drove my 40' motor home from the Sacramento area to Reno and got into a pinched down very narrow one lane for miles! I was worried I would hit one or the other sides and it made for a very tense time.
Does any one know if that streach has been completed or is it still choaked down to one very narrow lane?

RE: refrigerator vent

Do you have water to your refer and is it on? I had one like yours in my '03 rambler and the ice maker tube in the back of the refer had a tiny hole in it which caused the wet spots.
If not I would suggest checking the roof for any cracks around vents, etc. If you have a bed room slide check your gaskets on it also.

RE: Chalky gelcoat? Red Max Pro -- once more through the mill

My rig has gel coat sides and caps but the decals are painted on. Also the bottom half where the doors are is painted w/clear coat. I called the RedMax customer line and they told me not to use on painted surfaces. Has any one used it on painted surfaces and for how long, still ok?
