RE: Getting ready to buy!

2008-9 Fleetwood Bounder 32W King bed option. Has flat screen in front overhead, works fine.

RE: Tow Dolly

New or used really doesn't matter as long as the condition is good. If used, check the condition of the straps carefully, replacements can be ordered online. I do recommend getting a dolly with brakes. Some have electric brakes and some have surge brakes. Electric brakes require installation of a brake controller and wiring in the motorhome. Make sure the tires are good. Some dollys have a swiveling base to help the dolly make turns and some even have steerable wheels, though they tend to be more expensive. Make sure the weight of the dolly and the car it is carrying do not exceed the rating for the motorhome or hitch. I've been towing a Toyota Camry behind my Bounder with a Stehl Tow Dolly for the last 18 months quite nicely. P.S. It's a good idea to carry a spare for the dolly, I had a blowout on my second trip. Good luck.

RE: Owner's/maintenance manual

Last year I bought a 2008 Bounder (used) that had no manuals of any kind. I have found that online manuals for most systems can be downloaded onto your computer. I've got manuals for the generator, awning, levelers, inverter/charger, and more. Also try the iRV2 website, there is a Fleetwood specific section.

RE: Generator maintenance - Onan

A few months back I went to the Cummins/Onan website and downloaded the operators manual for my Onan Gold 5500 gas generator as a PDF file onto my computer. It contains all the basic information I need for normal maintenance. I used it a couple of months ago to do an oil and filter change and air filter change. I don't know if things have changed or if you are looking for something else, but it worked for me.

RE: Looking for Lake Tahoe Campground for Motorhome????

All of these suggestions are good, though access to Meeks Bay is best approached from the North end of the lake with a rig your size. Another option is Tahoe Valley Campground, just south of the "Y" off Highway 50. We've stayed there for years and they accommodate large motorhomes all the time.

RE: One of a kind 1971 Class A

I am a docent at that museum and am very familiar with that motorhome. It always draws a crowd. Last year we had it at the California State Fair and many people thought it was a houseboat. When asked if it went into water, my answer was always, "Absolutely! It goes in just fine, it just doesn't come back out!" We've been told that the builder did build another similar coach later and that it may be in Florida, though we can't confirm that.

RE: Owners Information Package 2000 Bounder 34D

I have a 2009 Bounder 32W which I bought used and which came with no manuals or owner information at all. I have found online PDF files for many of my components like the Onan generator, KVH satellite dish, A&E awning, PowerGear levelers, etc. I also recommend going to the IRV2 website which has a Fleetwood-specific forum that may be of help.

RE: N.Ca/Oregon trip and rally ?s

North on 101 would be my choie by far for that area. Mad River is fine, but I would also recommend Riverwalk RV park in Fortuna, just south of Eureka.

RE: Car dolly with brakes or without

Get the brakes!!! They are not that much more and all you need is to get cut off by an inconsiderate driver who thinks a rolling house can stop on a dime...you'll be glad they're there.
