RE: Routes in CA from Mojave to I-80

Make sure your trailer brakes are working like they are suposed to, I don't have an exhaust brake either and I've pulled double over all the route your taking. 395 is not a curvy road and most of the downgrades have straight long runouts to them. The traffic on 99 is worse than any down hill you will encounter.

RE: Routes in CA from Mojave to I-80

When you pickup Hwy 58 at Barstow I would take 58 to 395 and head north the heck with 99. A ton of things to see and do on 395. Stay at Mono Rv park in Lee Vining and do a day trip to yosemite, then 395 north to Reno and 80. There is some hwy work at Topaz Lake 20 min delay.

RE: Would new shocks help me?

No doubt new shocks would help. On my F250 the oem shocks were done at 26,000 replaced with Monroes and are still good 70,000 miles later. The air pressure in the tires have a lot to do with the ride on E rated tires, I run 70 psi towing and drop back to 60 when I get back home.

RE: Las Vegas to Sequoia NF and Yosemite

15 to 58 to 99 to 198 is best, but plan on staying in Three Rivers and use the toad to visit Sequoia. The road construction in the park on 198 has a length limit of 22' for now. I like Kaweah River RV Park in 3 R's. For Yosemite take 198 back out to 99 to Fresno and take 41 north. Have a Nice trip.

RE: Do They Still Make Mission Brand Tires?

RE: Yosemite and 35' fth wheel...Hwy 41 or 140

You'll have no trouble with the tunnels, just run up against the centerline. Stick with 41 as it'll be the easiest route for you. See my profile, I go through Yosemite pulling double up 41 and over 120 to Lee Vining, no problems.

RE: First time road trip Arizona, Utah and Colorado

Don't worry abouts what to see or avoid, 10 days won't be long enough with your route. JMHO. Just google the cities you'll be hitting an keep track of the mileage. You might not want to be so agreesive on your 1st major outing. There are tons of things to see in each state. Good luck

RE: Fishing and Camping Twin lakes or lake mary?

Getting new 34' Motorhome and GF wants to camp and fish. Haven't fished in YEARS. Would like somewhere scenic, hopefully can can on Lake, and just want to wet a line from shore and hopefully catch our dinner?????????? Any ideas from folks that have been there? Don't mind dry camping and want to have campfires at night since it's been 5 years since we had a MH. Thanks Checkout McGee Creek RV park, trust me nightgrawlers and you'll have dinner right now. Creek flows right through the park and they provide all the firewood you want.

RE: CA I-58 between Bakersfield and I-395

Good to know about 58 improvements. I'll bet the residents of Mojave appreciate the decrease in town traffic. Not really, they all lost their jobs..............

RE: need advise on route from Sequoia to Yosemite Ca

Your pet will get sea sick on 41 or 140 no matter which route you choose your in the mountains. I would go Hwy 41 and watch the signs once you enter the valley floor, follow signs to 140. Good luck with Barffy.....

RE: Where to stay while visiting Sequoia & Kings Canyon parks

Come up Hwy 198 and stay in Three Rivers and use your toad to visit the parks. There will be no signals in Sequoia or Kings Canyon for anything. My RV park of choice is Kaweah RV Park...

RE: aux fuel tank 2011 f-350 dually

I put in an in bed "Pickup Fuel Tool Box" tank/tool box combo, 50 gal. Threw in $200 @ $4.19 a gal in Visalia and did a week to the coast/run around/back home. Approximately 400 miles and I didn't have to buy the cheapest diesel there at $4.59 a gal. Glad I got the tank.......

RE: question about 5th wheel towing

I don't think the makers have been offering optional hitchs but for a few years, so a lot of peeps have been using RV dealers and welders to mount them for many years.

RE: Smoke more

If you have to pay a lot more now for diesel fuel, shouldn't the diesel smoke more so you get your money's worth. Diesel here is $0.10 a gallon higher here than regular gas, the only smoke we're blowing is passing up that 395 HP sitting in a gas station....

RE: where to stay and how to access Sequioa and King Canyon NP

See my profile, we go up to Big Meadows all the time up 180 pulling double you'll have no problem. Best to stay in Kings Canyon and do a day trip to Sequoia, only 25 miles away over a good two lane road the Genreals Hwy.
