RE: Bogs down on Acceleration

Had similar problem and fuel filter replacement (2) cured the "bogging down". After over 5 years, the air filter indicator still is not half way. Good luck and safe travels.

RE: How much is your Dog worth? In cold, hard cash?

Our pet dog is not priceless and IS for sale! I have been advertising that fact. So far there have been no takers, even while petting him saying how cute or pretty he is. We value our Dusty at $3,000,000.00 paid in cash! The first person that hands over 3 million in legal US dollars gets him!

RE: The diesel fuel price slide begins!

I expect prices to rise when travel season really begins. Currently $3.79 in Virginia.
When diesel fuel drops under $2.50 it will be time to re-start the cross country trips (have 5 more to do); until then, trips will stay less than 1500 miles total.

RE: Demco Aluminator tow Bar Not Locking

Have the Demco Aluminator and have never had a problem locking. There have been times where we had to pull the MH forward for both sides to lock, but, have never had a "no lock" situation.

RE: Sad about Riverbend, Labelle Florida....

I do not agree with the restriction to Class A only, but, that is currently and was their option when River bend was developed and rules determined. Would expect you were well aware of the restriction when you purchased your current unit and knew you could not return to that location. The restriction is one reason we never considered that resort because many of our friends have nice fifth wheels.

RE: What do I need to tow my 2008 Honda Civic behind Bluebird?

Recommend the Ready Brute Elite (with integrated Ready Brake braking system) tow bar attached to the least costly base plate that is installed with RED thread lock on each bolt/nut versus the normally recommended BLUE thread lock. Recommend base plate that requires no cutting for installation.

RE: extended warrenties

Depends on the cost of the extended warrantee. If ext. war. costs $100 to $200 and covers may items that may go bad, I say go for it. If ext. war. costs $3000 or more, then place the $$$ in an account that draws interest, pay any repairs out of the account, and have a party at the end of the ext. war. coverage with the $$$ still in the account. You may also want to invite your forum friends to the party. If the ext. war. costs are included in any loan on the Coachmen, the actual cost of the ext. war. will astronomical and should be avoided. Any ext. war. should be throughly read, understood, and re-read prior to purchase. Posters shoe & midnitesadie above have given you really good advice.
Good and safe travels.

RE: 1992 Fleetwood Flair 30 foot ..miles per gallon?

We must be lucky because our loaded 2001 Coachmen Mirada 340 MBS (V-10 34' long with 1 slide) averaged over 8 mpg if driven at 50 - 55 MPH. Our loaded 39' 3 slide diesel pusher is, per the onboard computer, averaging 8.4 mpg. On flat land at 55 MPH & on cruise have seen the computer show 10 to 12 mpg.

RE: Virginia Beach Camping

Views of the Chesapeake Bay were from First Landing State Park most likely. That state park can handle a 40' RV on a few sites. They have added water & electric to many sites. The two campgrounds nearer the ocean are less than 1 mile apart on General Booth Blvd and are Holiday Travel Park and the KOA. Recommend First Landing reservations be obtained as soon as possible. Good and safe travels.

RE: Looking at Class A DP

Both are entry level Diesel Pushers, and, with proper maintenance, should be fine and last as long as you desire. Recommend which ever unit has the 6 speed Allison vs the 5 speed. Have not researched on the Allison site, but, believe the 1 through 5 gear ratios are different and the 6 speed will provide better performance (& probably better fuel mileage). We owned a Coachmen motor home and had great service from the unit, from the dealer, & from Coachmen. Good and safe travels in your motor home.
NOTE: Thanks forum for a good Spell Check! Glad to have Spell Check back!

RE: horsepower

If the 300 HP diesel produces enough torque it will be fine. If it is a Cummins 5.9L with a 6 speed Allison it will get you there fine. If connected to the 5 speed Allison climbing will be slower (but you probably are not in a race). Good and safe travels.

RE: Why Brake assist in Toad?

Check your state's laws/statutes and follow them. Most states do not have brake requirements for dinghies. Some do (maybe 15 states). The physics involved indicate it is best to have a braking system on the dinghy (required or not). Recommend Ready Brake Elite tow bar with integrated braking system when towing a dinghy. Why can't we leave well enough alone? Do the people that live in states requiring dinghy brakes want to impose their state's requirements on everyone just to feel better?
NOTE: Spell check worked fine! Thanks Forum.
