RE: New Durango as Toad

The new Durango comes in an all wheel drive that has a 2 speed transfer case. And it is flat tow-able. I have a 2012 Citadel, AWD with the Hemi, it is an awesome vehicle. Which baseplate did you use? Can you post a picture? Thanks!

New Durango as Toad

I'm looking to replace our 08 Ford Taurus X toad. I need something that can be flat towed and seat at least 6 people. I don't want to add a transmission pump. The only realistic options are the Ford Flex, GMC Acadia/Buick Enclave/Chevy Traverse and the Dodge Durango. I like the new Durango. With the Hemi, I could probably sell my truck, too, since it could tow my Road Runner on a trailer. I have an 05 Magnum R/T with the Hemi. The V6 Durango has impressive towing capacity, but does not come with the 2 speed transfer case, so it's not flat towable. Does anyone have actual experience with the new Durango as a toad? It's completely redesigned, so you really can't compare it to the previous generations. I'm curious what it looks like with a baseplate installed. This would be my wife's daily driver. Thanks!!

RE: New 4wd toad

The Dodge Durango would be my choice. can the durango's be flat towed? The new Durango can be towed if you get the Hemi. The V6 cannot be flat towed. The reason is you get the 2 speed transfer case with neutral with the Hemi. I'm looking at new Durangos.

RE: Halfway point for Disney trip

We did Pedro's on the way back. It's not far enough for the way down. We left northern VA around 6 AM and got to Savannah South KOA in Georgia the first day around dinner time. I didn't want to split it evenly. I wanted to get as far as possible the first day and have a shorter drive the second day. Disney is a ton of fun, but requires lots of energy. By having a shorter drive day 2, it let me rest some before starting our Disney adventure. When we go again, maybe next year, I'd do the same thing. Enjoy!!
